took his class in fall 2018. the first part was ecology with Dr. heras (easy A on both midterms). Krug taught evolution part which was harder. failed the first midterm and final probably failed, but he curved which i ended up with an A in class. hes exams are hard. just study, but i guess i got lucky with that curve or else ended up with a D.

Comment:

Great professor, exams were a bit tough and grading slightly harsh. But it was doable, he had missed some points on my exam so always make sure to re-calculate your points for any class!! Overall an okay class. He is very enthusiastic about the topic and I appreciate that because it keeps me alert.

His lectures are outdated, not an interesting class, and he makes it boring. He gives you study guides but its a lot of work. He tells you to come to his office hours if you need help on the study guides but doesn't help and makes you come up with the answers. His tests are a lot of short answers and looking at graphs. His test averages are 50%.

Great Professor really knowledgeable about the subject, very strict on the guidelines for the Lab Notebook. All in all you need to really dedicate time outside of his class to the course. The material is very straight forward and interesting, really goes into great detail about the embryonic development of different invertebrates.

Comment:

One of the best teachers I have ever had! Take marine zoology class at the same time as marine ecology with Carlos Robles and you will get an A in both. The two classes compliment each other and with great teachers how could you not pass? Do all the work, ask questions, and show an interest and study. The field trips are awesome...snorkling!

Many students rated his easy as 2 because he has short answers and essay questions on his exam.To be honest, I think short answers and essay questions are easy to earn points comparing to multiple choice. However, you need to do well in the lab cause the lab is worthy half of your grade. By the way, his lectures are very interesting.

BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD!! His lectures are SO clear and not boring at all! He knows his stuff and is so passionate about Bio. He's also very funny! Highly recommend for both bio and non-bio majors! I wish he taught all the bio classes.

Best professor ever!!! he is very funny and very helpful during office hours not so much through email. you dont need the book but you may need it for ref. must attend ALL classes inorder to take adequet notes to pass the class. if you study you will do well in the class. midterm is harder than his final (he cruves both midterm and final)

Great teacher! Very enthusiastic! Lectures are incredibly interesting and his explanation of material is clear. He is ready to tell the same thing over and over until you understand. Great about meeting with students to explain material and go over study guides. Can spend as much time with you one on one as you need him to. Recommend him strongly!

This class was way harder than I expected but I delve in hard and studied powerpoints and books. I spent alot of time and saw him in office hours twice which he highly recommends. Tests are GRUELING and long but the materials is interesting. Work hard and you will get an A like I did
