He has a very specific style of teaching. Some students respond to it very well, others do not. His classes are interesting, though they are not easy. You will learn A LOT, but will be tested on most of it. Just be prepared. He does warn you at the beginning of the semester that this is the case. Be prepared, do the reading, and you will learn.

Don't ever take this class, he's a horrible teacher. The topic is borring as hell to start with and he only makes it worse. If you have to take this class or have him as a teacher, i feel bad for you.

U was si excited for this class, but Professor LIfton ruined it. He makes up words and wears practically the same outfit everyday. He never listens. You will never see your grade until they are do. Never enters them on Blackboard or anything.

Dr. Lifton made a point to make the practicum worth everyone's time, not just from the point of veiw of producing a worthwhile show, but also from the perspective of comprehending the literature and understanding the interplay between the voice/movements aspects and the rest of the characterizations. Good times...good times.

Terrible course and teacher! As a fan of the theatre, the total disregard for the origins of theatre in a class with this title irritated me. The content was ridiculous. You would have to have a minor in foreign language to understand it. Only people to understand what was happening were majors.
