Worst Professor Ive ever had honestly. One of his last few semesters teaching so he does not care at all about the well being of the students or how well they retain information. Very knowledgeable in his subject field but not a very good teacher of it.

Won't take again. if you care about GPA, avoid. if you want to THINK about American politics polling and public opinion, it is a decent class. A with Pollock is impossible. His tests are his schadenfreude. He might be a good Graduate level professor, but his undergrad courses are GPA sinkholes. 4.0 GPA student. (not anymore)

Prof. Pollock made the material easy to understand, as well as interesting with his silly side comments. His rubrics are very clear and you can earn the grade you want by following them. He openly says he is a conservative, but he is not over the top about it. He is very understanding and may extend assignment dates if the entire class agrees.

He is not a bad professor attitude wise. He does get lost in his own lectures. Gives study guide but only half of the question. only 3 exams with the highest worth 40% 2nd 30% lowest worth 20%. dont buy the book. Everything is on his slides at lecture but he does incorporate outside info on exams too. Is knowledgeable & passionate.

Pollock is the best choice for Scopes and Methods. He made the material very easy to understand for s rather complicated subject. He has great lectures that he posts online. GO TO CLASS- attendance is 15% of your grade. Short weekly assignments are painless. Mid term and final combine for 70% of your grade (part of each is take home). Great!!

Tests are multiple choice with an essay component online. Multiple choice are tough, he gives a study guide but you really have to know the material. Essays are easy points. Going to class and paying attention is the best way to pass, don't need the textbook.

He's a conservative, but it doesn't affect his teaching. You don't need to read the textbook for the tests. His power points have everything you need to know. Doing the study guide will only get you a C on exams, you have to go to class and remember random statistics from the power points. Your best exam is 40%, 2nd highest is 30% & lowest is 20%

I dreaded taking POS3703 but Professor Pollock made the class not only enjoyable, but my favorite class this semester. Great and helpful professor! His online videos, notes, and power points are extremely helpful. We've even gone over assignments that were due over the weekend in an earlier class. Would take him again!

Professor Pollock's class is easy to go though if you are willing to work. Be prepared to do a lot of homework. I think I had about 15 for the semester I was in. We almost covered the book from cover to cover. He does a really good job at explaining his assignments. He even goes over them if needed.

Took him for Political Scope and Methods. You need both books for the class, both are written by him but he really knows his stuff. Do not get behind in this class, if you don't understand something get help immediately. Not good about updating grades, didn't update anything until the end of the semester. A computer program is necessary.

He is very nice and very helpful. You only have three exams with a short essay for each. your highest exam is worth 40% of your grade second highest is worth 30% and your lowest exam is only worth 20%. Classes are long lectures which can be boring. But you can use your phone and don't have to take notes they are all online. Easy class just study.

He makes his political views pretty obvious, but he doesn't let them affect his teaching. He's very silly and makes what could easily be a very boring class at least somewhat interesting. He also wrote the book, which helps a lot. You'll need the textbook since it has the assignments in it, but if you go to class you won't need to read it.

Very respectable professor. He wants you to understand the material and will go over any questions you have in class. He makes the class more entertaining than it should be and he is very clear on his expectations. Tests weren't bad because he gives you DETAILED study guides for all of them. He also only uses the + system, no minuses given.

Dr. Pollock was my thesis chair during my semester of Directed Readings for my undergraduate thesis. During the semester, he was incredibly helpful and dedicated to my research, and helped me develop it in a way that I could communicate to the world of political science academia. I learned quite a lot and I am happy with where my research ended up.

Voting/elections class. The teacher is a double edge sword. On class he teaches the whys and hows so you remember the points. However the quizes and tests only ask trivia and statistics that have nothing to do with why or how. Dates and numbers you will forget soon after the class is done. So you are warned, btw the book was barely used

Public Opinion was the third class that I took with Dr. Pollock, and like the others before it, I enjoyed it quite a bit and learned a lot. The tests are easy to do well on and the lectures are (mostly) interesting. Just make sure to listen to what he says and take notes, and you should do fine and learn.

Took Public Opinion with him online for Summer A. Take good notes and write down comments he makes in the lecture and you should have no problem getting an A. Also had him for Interest Groups last Spring which was a little more challenging but not bad. He comes with my highest recommendations!

Dr. Pollock finally mentored in me an interest in the POS3703 course. Thanks to his devotion and concern about his students, I am now familiar with the SPSS program and with most of the class material. The course is very well-organized and the opportunity to succeed tanks to a devoted professor is there. I am deeply thankful to Dr. Pollock forever.
