Well if you want to pursue Power as a career this class is for you or if you want an easy A. The professor is good but this lab is such a joke that it should not be a 300 level course. I found this course to be a waste of time since it offers very little value. With that said just simply show up on time and do your reports.

Need to work hard, but exams are not hard! Since there is a quize for every lecture, the attendance is somewhat mandatory. Study all hw, textbook, and handout examples, you should be fine. Grade is not curved. >90 is A >80 is B vis versa. Bottomline, there is a good chance to get an A in this class, but you need to studay (a little) every day.

He is easy because the test questions are exactly like homeworks problems, but you have to understand or memorize them. Many students use scientific calculator to store problems and solutions to cheat during tests. I don't like that because they screw up the curve. You have to 37/40 to assure your B. 38/40 and above, will give an A grade.

Very nice professor. If you have problems with homeworks or projects, he will help you. Tests are mostly from homeworks, and he is a fair grader. He also tells funny jokes occasionally to keep you awake. Recommend!

Comment:

Excellent Professor, learned a lot about power systems and developed a strong interest in the area. Passionate about teaching and likes to tell funny stories about machines blowing up! Exams are straight-foward and doable. Too bad he's the only prof in San Diego teaching this subject.

Very easy class...do homework and pay attention to examples in class...midterms are straight out of hw and examples, which you get copies of so they are easy to memorize, all he does is change a few numbers or wiring configurations(like a wye instead of delta). Make sure not to get on his bad side though because it will greatly affect ur grade.

His teaching strategy sucks. He is very unfair. Everyone hates this class, but if you need to take it be sure to read a lot and do the homeworks a couple of times to get an 'A' on the class. Take it on the summer with someone else.
