P. Curtis is amazing. I learned no english in high school, but english 1 and 2 with curtis taught me everything I know now. She makes class fun and you really learn about literature and to write. If your not so good, she will make you good and if you are good, she'll make you better. Everyone should take her! If you show her you care she will care.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. She's so passionate about what she teaches and she's extremely helpful. Will do anything she can to help you if you show that you're willing to try in her class. Lots of reading and writing (duh). Overall, a fun class. Professor Curtis is quite enjoyable.

Professor Curtis is dedicated to teaching her students. She is a superb professor. The book is used a lot, so be sure to get it soon or you'll fall behind. She is a fair grader, and she has a great sense of humor. Don't diss on females, and pretend to be a democrat even if it hurts. BTW, her name is MS (MIZZ) CURTIS, NOT MRS (MISSES). Get it right.

Oh, Prof. Curtis :] I had her for both Eng. 1 and Eng. 2. She helped me improve my writing immensely!! I never knew how great a writer I was until I took her classes. I highly recommend her. She also has quite a wonderful sense of humor. I got a B in eng. 1 and an A in eng. 2. She is so helpful! Love you Becky Curts!!

Ms. Curtis is by far the best english professor that I have experienced to date. She is fun, engaging, clear, truly a pleasure to attend her class. She is a fair grader, but the class requires a lot of reading and writing. Do the work, show up to class, ask questions, and most importantly, keep republican remarks to yourself.

Hard class, but definitely worth taking. Everyone in the class improved their writing skills tremendously. If you're looking for an easy A, don't take her. She can be very intimidating. I took Ms.Curtis for Eng 1 back in summer 2005 and I thought that she was a nice person, but a horrible teacher. Now 4 years later I attend Berkeley; writing assignments are brutal. Now I realize that it was Ms.Curtis who taught me how to write well! I apologize for slamming you in my earlier review of your class! I just want to say Thank You!

Prof. Curtis is very difficult to rate because she seems to grade students not on their current work but on what she feels students maybe capable of accomplishing in the future. To do well in her class you need to be the type of student who is capable of listening and considering other points of views, if you're not, do not take her. I got an A.

Curtis rocked! Fun, clear, keeps you on your toes. Interesting discussions, great reads, helps you with your writing, expects you to have work ready by deadlines. Gave an opportunity to redo midterm if grade was C or less. She's great. I loved this class! I feel more confident about my writing skills and reading comprehension. Take this prof. :)

I loved this prof! She is quirky, fun and real. If you show up and do the work, she will be the coolest teacher ever. She really goes over your essays with you to help you improve. She has fun discusses and the reading material is fascinating. I enjoyed this class. She does expect you to have your work by the deadlines. She helped my writing skills

Ms. Curtis had an atmosphere in her classroom of inclusive positive awareness. Even the students who were uninterested in the beginning were wrangled in her world of literature and excitement by the end of the semester. A great teacher who uses positive reinforcement and embraces every opportunity to praise students for their accomplishments.

I had so much fun in this class. Professor Curtis kept it entertaining but was still extremely helpful. She wants everyone to succeed and starts the day with a great attitude to help you achieve your goals, whether or not you are on your way to transfer. She is the Best!! took her class and loved every minute of it. She teaches more 1/2 english 1/2 history but in a good way. She WONT put up with anyone's BS and will call out anyone who sleeps, talks, or slacks off in the class. WARNING-very liberal and will tell you what she thinks regardless. Some might be insulted by the way she talks to students
