Comment:

What a wonderful professor. I wish I could have him for all math courses. He is so enthusiastic and really ensures the class understands the material. He also is very open to helping students who seek further assistance outside of class. I would take him again.

Comment:

Very solid teacher, and a great person. Abstract Algebra looks easier with him. Attendance is not mandatory, but MAKE SURE you attend every class so you are always caught up with the information.

Comment:

Real OG. Quiet, accurate, efficient, no mood swings, and funny. He will NOT grade your HW on a graduate class, but he will answer any questions you have about your HW or anything else in the class. The test reviews are GOLD. I feel lucky to have had him in grad school.

This prof. gives very information and easy to follow lectures. I had to I had to do all of the book work he recommends for the grade I got but the practice tests he gives are almost exactly like what will be on the test. He is always happy to answer questions but beware of missing a test because he is not quick to allow make-up exams.

Dr. WInton is a great teacher. He really loves his job and cares about your success! He can go fast but is willing to go over something again if you need it. If you take good notes and study for the tests you will do well. There is no HW grade so the only grades you have are from tests, but he goes over the test questions before.

Comment:

Dr. Winton is a great teacher. A good pace, sometimes fast, but is willing to go back and explain any questions asked. He gives reviews before exams that are almost exactly like the exam he will use. If you take good notes, you won't need to do the suggested homework from the text book. Attendance not necessary, but it's easy to fall behind.

There are 4-5 test given but only 8-10 questions. basically, if you miss 1-2 questions, you fail the test. He loves math and makes it fun but you better go to class and take good notes and study for tests.

Winton is a well-respected, interesting professor that will always have fun stories to tell. If you are struggling in class make sure to talk to him afterwards or in office hours and he will help you out greatly. He really notices if you are trying!! I enjoyed this class very much

Dr. Winton makes what he wants from you very clear. He does not grade homework, but he does give homework assignments for extra practice, which you should do because its good practice for the test. He gives lots of examples in class and if you have any questions you can usually just stop by his office whenever. Tells a lot of jokes.

He doesn't give grades for homework, beware of that. You do need to show up because he does move tests if need be and will not email you. If you show up every class day, and you can't make it for a test, he is very nice to let you make it up. His puns are pretty funny though, and he wears very punny shirts; pretty chill guy.

Comment:

I hated his class. He moves fast and does not assign homework which is a bad idea if you think about it. His tests are hard and I got sick and missed a test day. I proved it by dr's notes and he said he'd see what he could do but he lacked any sympathy of the fact that i had been diagnosed with a painful disease. Take Dr. White instead for 310.

Comment:

Winton teaches with examples in class, reiterating concepts that he finds important (on test). His class is not too fast paced, and the homework and test reviews he gives you cover exactly what the test does. Everyone failed a test in my class, so he just gave a retest. Not many college professors will do that.

I have taken trig 3 times with all different teachers and this seems to be the best teacher so far. He gives handouts on Tests that help A LOT and will personally help you with anything you dont understand. I wouldnt recommend taking any other teacher for Trig.

Dr. Winton is an amazing teacher!! I did not have an easy time understanding calculus and with the help of Dr. Winton I made an A. Show up to class, listen, and pay very good attention to the reviews. He makes the tests a lot like the review. If you have trouble don't be afraid to ask, he will even answer questions during tests. He is great!!!

Very awesome and funny teacher! He doesn't use the textbook except as a guide, but it's still good to get it in case you need more practice problems. He is a very intelligent man and is very clear in his instructions.

Dr. Winton is probably the most knowledgeable math professor that I have taken. He definitely knows what he is teaching and even points out things in the book that are wrong. He breaks things down a lot and makes note sheets for important info that you will need on the test. He gives a test review that is basically the test with different numbers.
