I love this professor. He is a very good lecturer and is passionate about what he teaches. He is very explicit on how to do what you need to do to on his tests outside of the final (philosophy paper) and expects you to know the prerequisite material for the class. If you suck at math then you're going to have a very bad time.

On the first day, he said something along the lines of: You shouldn't be working more than 20 hours and going to school if you want good grades. He demands we watch incomprehensible videos he made years ago in place of lectures, despite not being a hybrid class. Overcomplicates simple topics. Boring. Erratic. Tough grader. Speaks on tangents. AVOID

He does most of his lecturing online. He warns you in the beg of the semester he is a hard teacher and he is, not 1person in my class got an A and only a few people got B's. He's not the most helpful either. He gets mad when you don't understand something b/c he is just 2 smart for his own good % doesn't know how to dumb it down 2 a beginning level

Robert Rider is very passionate about economics and knows what he is talking about, but the class is VERY hard. Tests are very difficult and you MUST study days before the exam, using notes from the class, the textbook, and long online videos. Good luck.

Toughest professor on campus, by far. Good luck passing. Do anything and everything in your power to avoid taking his class if you care about your GPA and your education at all. He takes his entire curriculum out of the text book and expects you to know the whole thing cover to cover by week two.

Knows his stuff, but very hard, 301 in particular is harder than econometrics (471). He's in his office all the time however and is more than willing to help students, so long as you show some initiative. Sports (328) was easier than 301, but not by much. Take a light load when you sign up for 301, it's a 3 unit class that feels like 5.

Dr. Rider is an awesome professor and challenges students in ways other professors do not. The class is tricky & it's recommended that you have concise understanding of basic calc. He's always available for help and goes out of his way to meet with students who may be struggling. If you're a serious econ student you'll love & appreciate Dr. Rider!

Very good Teacher. One of my favorite so far at csusm. He gives plenty of resources and always encourages to go to his office hours. After taking his class i highly considered majoring in Econ. Stay on top of things and it will be a breeze.

Class is very hard, nearly half the class fails the class, might have 1 or 2 with an A, 3-8 with B, and 9-19 with C, Rest are students with F. So majority of class must retake this teacher again for 301. GOOD LUCK! study a lot and do all the HW! dont expect to get an A on anything

Listen, stop reading these comments and being scared. You don't have to quit your job or change majors. To do well in Rider's class. Get ALL of the homework points. (Go to his office hours). STUDY and READ. Sure you still might not get an A on the test, but you can for sure get a C or B.(I aced 301 last year) 328 was fun, kinda like 301.

VERY very hard class, the class is three tests and a few problem sets. Very tough grader over half the class will fail and with mostly F's. He gives a study guide but his tests are trick questions. You will have to apply multiple material to one question to get full credit. If you work, either change majors or quit or you wont pass garunteed

First of all you don't need to read about him because you have no choice to take another professor. he is the only one who gives this class :(. Well he is the worst prof I ever took a class with. but to be honest he covers all the material that will come of the test. wish you all the best and if you can take this class off-off-campus please do so .

Uh-oh, your on RMP yet you know Rider is the ONLY prof to teach this class required for your major? Well good luck, 15 hours a week on this 1 unit class. Tests are virtually impossible to pass, many trick questions very hard grader this guy is no joke. Only advice either quit your job or change majors. Good luck
