She can be a little boring, but she is amazing and knows her stuff. She has done field work in Malaysia, I recommend bringing it up as she doesn't talk about it enough. She is quirky and a little awkward, but a sweet lady. She cares about her students and cares even more about the rest of humanity and the study of us.

This class is already very challenging. There is a lot of reading assigned every week and questions that will be used to quiz. She is available at office hours a lot, but if you ask her for help, which I have done SEVERAL times, she tells you to "try harder". That is very frustrating for an A student to hear.

Very unclear and made lectures awkward with very long pauses. Class was not enjoyable and was expected to write a long paper all about a picture. a ton of reading DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Not very open to beliefs or views that are not her own. She will tell you to be open minded, yet she is not. Gives a lot of work but is not nice when it comes to helping. I feel like she judged me based on my differing political views rather than how hard I actually tried. Not a fan of this woman.

She is very knowledgeable I'll give her that and brilliant. However she is not very helpful when it comes with students with disabilities. She doesn't quite understand some students have trouble with testing and could benefit from extra time on tests especially if your documented. Beware her classes are dry and the same every time.

THE WORST, cant say enough about how terrible her class is. She is clearly not open to any ideas save her own and carries herself around like shes some kind of gift to the world. THE ONLY CLASS I HAVE EVER DROPPED! Her assignments can be characterized as BUSY WORK at best, and consistently carry to purpose, and are always boring. AVOID

Professor Gianno is a wonderful lady who loves her field of teaching. She has immensely interesting things to say if you seek her out to ask. Contacting her with any problems or questions is a good idea; she likes that her students give her feedback.

She's either a love/hate professor. I personally enjoyed her class, a small reading assignment with some questions were the usual assignments. Picked terrible and boring books though. I wouldn't recommend this class to those who are not interested in Anthropology but I wouldn't tell people not to take it.

She is super knowledgeable and has lived a vastly interesting life. She is kind of boring, but the subject matter is really interesting. You have a TINY reading assignment for every class and that's it. Don't bother taking notes, just listen to discussions and you will ace her class!

This was the most interesting class I've taken yet. Its not easy but the work is mostly interesting. Just participate in class and be prepared to do ALL of the readings because you will have to answer a response question or response paper on all of them. A whole lot of work for this class but I now see that it was necessary. Fun class to take

Rosemary is an awesome professor she is really knowlegable. She is not at all easy so you best read your chapters she is very detailed but if you know your stuff you shouldnt have a worry. Don't be afraid to ask her for help she is always available. She is best in upper level courses not for beginners :)

Had her last year and she assigns lots of reading each night. A lot of people think this 100 level class would be easy-peasy but it's not. Just do all the reading and you'll do fine. She also doesn't like suck-ups either which is definitely a plus.

Comment:

Most people take her Anth class assuming it will be easy because it's a 100 level course but that's not true. She makes you work for your grade (tons of reading and memorization) but she is a fair grader. Whatever you put in is what you get out so if you slacked off, that's your fault.
