Dr. Hersh is trying her best. She does a lot and is thinking a lot. She gets flustered when working with a lot of people at once but is very helpful in a one on one setting.

She is an awful teacher. Insanely disfunctional and will fail you for her lack of ability to function as a human. She will never answer your emails but if you dont answer something she will flip out and fail you. AWFULLLLL TEACHER AVOID AT ALLLLL COSTS. SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ANYTHING SHE TEACHES BECAUSE SHE DOESNT EVEN KNOW WHAT SHE IS TEACHING

Dr. Hersh is a genius, however experiences issue explaining all the thoughts in her head. If you take the time to work with her then she can teach you incredible things. String seminar can be dry and painful but if you put in the effort to work with her you will gain helpful body mapping knowledge. It's basically body mapping 101.

Dr. Hersh is the sweetest, most dedicated studio professor in the world. The relationships she builds with her students are life-long and truly meaningful. She has helped me grow tremendously as a musician and a student. I love her. Yay team!

This class is mandatory, so no avoiding taking it with her, but you will not enjoy this. She does not explain anything well enough and if you don't constantly check her moodle page you will never know what is due, if anything is ever due. The content of the class is good, but she is not good at teaching this course. Get out of her advising too.

She can talk for hours on end without answering your question. She's a nice woman with good intentions but sometimes she should think before she speaks. String Seminar is manditory for ED majors so you don't have a choice but to have her. Do the work she assigns and you'll pass with no problems.

Yes her personality is like the mad professor but she's a very professional woman. But NSP and Suzuki Teaching Principles is a must for the string teachers. You'll learn a lot more from her classes than from the String Practi****classes. Learning the Suzuki method will help you be more qualified as a private teacher as well.

Dr. Hirsch is a very hard teacher to understand. Unless you are one of her favs in NSP, she doesn't care what you do. Whenever you have a question, be prepared to listen to her for 15 minutes without an answer.
