She may seem a bit scary at first since she is a strict grader, but everything you write can be rewritten to improve your grade. She wants you to pass the class but she also wants you to understand what is going on. Lots of extra credit available. She is one of the best.

GREAT CLASS! McIntosh does a wonderful job of assigning interesting essays for analysis and then tying them into current events. She is available to help her students when ever needed. She may be a bit to the left, but that is fine with me, she does not let it interfere with her instructing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

this teacher is great, very helpful and lots of extra credits I mean I worked my butt off for enc1101 (with a diff teacher) and I got a B+ but with this teacher I made an A because I came to class and I did every single extra credit work, and did my rewrites, I mean if you get lower than a B it's your own fault...sorry but it's true

McIntosh is a poor instructor. She wastes much of the class time with pointless dribble chatting away instead of focusing on the task at hand teaching her students how to write papers. If you have a hard time with english this is not the professor for you. if you are a good writer and want feedback on how to improve, this is not the class for you.

Professor McIntosh is a GREAT professor. The previous five ratings neglected to say that Professor McIntosh allows students to make up ALL in-class and out-of-class essays (and takes the highest grade). You are allowed to use notes and books on all essays (except only the book on the final). If a student can't pass this class it is their own fault.

I got a B in this class. She is a very interesting woman, she is fun to talk to and knows a lot about writing. Although when it comes to your writing if it's not good she's tough to get help from because it seems she just doesn't know what to say. If you know you're a good writer take her she is easy, if you're not look into the writing lab.

Mrs. McIntosh was an overall great teacher. She is very open to meeting with students about any questions they may have and always willing to help. The only criticism I would give is that she is pretty long-winded. She is a very sweet teacher and you can tell she loves what she is teaching!
