Do not take his journalism 15 online class. Omg hes so hard. Even my professor whod audited one of his classes said she had a hard time getting good feedback from Rubin on her video story. Hes just like really hard. Maybe easier in person but online? No freaking way.

I took prof Rubin's Multimedia Storytelling class and enjoyed it. You have to complete 4 projects, that's it, so it was pretty cool. The projects are fun to do. The professor gives good feedback on the projects as you work on them. The instruction are easy to follow so you'd have to be a bad student to mess it up.

Although he is indeed knowledgeable about what he teaches, I expect any professor to have humility. Sadly, he is inconsiderate and doesn't know how to acknowledge that he cannot communicate expectations well to students. He is always right and everybody is wrong.

I'm just about finished with this course and I found it to be surprisingly easy. This is my first journalism class and I expected him to be a much tougher grader. His late assignment policy is very lenient compared to other courses I've taken. I found some of his instructions for assignments to be a bit unclear, but overall not a difficult class.

Horrible professor. I took him for J15 online and needs to understand that this course is an introduction to multimedia, not a BROADCASTING course.

Professor Rubin was a knowledgeable professor. He laughed at himself and he let his classroom be open for discussion. He was pretty inspiring in that he helped me choose my courses for the following semester.

I took "JOURN 15 (1357) - Introduction to Multimedia Storytelling" with Professor Rubin online and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. He presented great material, examples, and graded assignments fairly while offering great feedback. I learned quite a lot that I can apply to future projects.

Prof. Rubin is unclear in his expectations for assignments; I couldnt be creative in my assignments as I wish I could have. He wants assignments done his way nonetheless, he will bash you and still contradict himself in his expectations. The quality work I turned in was not valued as it should, A quality work was considered B quality. Avoid.

As someone who has been freelance writing for several years, and has also held the position as editor, I was wildly offended by his critique of my work. He's not very clear, but is always quick to tell you why you're wrong and why your ideas and words won't work for the assignment. This is definitely not a class I'd take again if he's the teacher.

Very good class. I took it online. There is material to read through then there are discussions and assignments related to the material. I was interested in journalism and this class was a good introduction and made me want to take more classes. Prof. Rubin gives good feedback on assignments. Learned a lot.

I took Rubin's Multimedia Journalism class and it was a complete joke. Assignments were unclear and Rubin offered little to no help. In the month before I dropped the class I feel like I learned nothing. Overall though he was not good at using the online platform to teach. Maybe he's better in person but online it's a waste of time

I have never felt more insecure about my writing until now. This has completely broken me. This instructor for a better lack of word is dispassionate and dull. I am a Journalism major I was completely miserable forcing me to drop both of the courses (Journalism 1 and Journalism 15) taught by him almost 2 months into the semester.

Great professor! He used PowerPoint, video, and text to teach the class. Assignments were interesting and fun. Instructions were clear and in the event you did have a question he was prompt in his response. Even if you aren't interested in journalism I recommend this course.

Seemed like a pretty cool dude to me. Laid back, easy going, chill. I like how he gave us plenty of freedom to do our own thing. Totally devoted to his students. Not hard to get an A if you're actually interested in the subject and put in some effort.

Too egotistical and patronizing to be an adequate professor. He has very high standards but is too negligent to give a proper critique. No care for anything but himself. Workload is light but just not worth it. Made me hate journalism... and it's my major. Never been judged so badly at writing in my life. Took both online & in-class classes.

I felt it necessary to tell other students to steer clear of him and his classes unless it's your absolutely last resort, and even then, I would tell you to reconsider. Such a shame that he's the only one who teaches required classes for the journalism majors. I switched majors because I was so disappointed after a professor like Rubin.

His egotism far outweighs his talent as a journalist. He is disguising himself as a tutor because he is a failure in the real world. Would not recommend anyone thinking of journalism to take his classes.

Rubin doesn't make the subject interesting. He has no passion except for himself. Not clear with assignments and often changes the due date. He is very picky, yet constantly makes mistakes himself, is egotistical and will turn you off journalism. The worst class I have taken.
