There is reading quizzes some classes but the questions are SO easy if you just read. Plus he drops a couple. He makes the stories interesting and he's very very funny so class isn't boring at all. HIGHLIGHT EVERY QUOTE FROM CLASS!!(you'll fail without them) On tests he gives you random quotes and you have to know where they're from + meaning

definitely a very challenging course but an incredibly interesting class! Dr. Yarbrough is one of the best professors at this school. He is very fair and he tells you how it is so just listen to what he says and the quotes he points out in class. Also keep up with the different movements. You'll be thankful you did!

One of the hardest English professors, but also the best. Has a great sense of humor and his sarcasm is hilarious. Lots of reading and pop quizzes but as long as you do the reading youll be fine.

He's hilarious but his class is tough. If he reads a quote highlight it and try to get as many quotes as possible for his test. If you ask for help you will get it but he doesn't go out of his way. You have to read the material

Dr. Yarbrough is pretty helpful. Since it's an upper-level Creative Writing course, expect some snarky comments and unnecessary sarcasm. He is helpful on "I want to follow the rules as a Southern Author" standpoint, but he will negate his lectures near the end of the semester since "rules are meant to be broken." He's a bearable professor.

you HAVE to read. it's English--that's what you do. If you read and pay attention, you'll think he's awesome &if you don't you'll think he's tough. This is college, your professors expect you to do your work. If he talks about a quote highlight it and write down whatever he says is significant about it. it WILL BE ON THE TEST.

Very funny! Best English professor. He is big on saying "you are your on boss" when writing papers. He will help you if you need it but he will not be that professor to say write more or give a lot of feed back.

Comment:

One of the best English teachers I have ever had! It takes a while to catch on to how his classes and tests go, but the class gets much easier when this is figured out. He's a tough grader, but he is willing to help with anything. He is also willing to help with grades if you put in the effort.

This professor is one of the hardest professors I have ever taken. Prior to this class I enjoyed writing. I find him to be very rude and arrogant. The class has a lot of reading so make sure you read read read! The tests are very difficult! Not to many positive things to say about him.

Such a great teacher. I would take his class again any if I were still there. He makes you think! Bring your book because you will be reading out loud in class and be sure to stop at the periods!!! He made me mad one day because he yelled at me but he is genuinely a nice guy and very helpful. Do your work and you will pass.

He is a great teacher. If you are interested in English you will love this class. It is not that hard to succeed if you do the extra credit and don't slack off. He is very helpful and I go to him with every paper before it's due- it's gotten me a good grade every time. He's really smart but also very clear, and he wants his students to understand. He can be intimidating, but he is actually nice and can help if you really care about learning.

He is very arrogant but you will learn alot if you can look past his dry humor and see his passion for the subject. He expects alot, unlike my previous 111 teacher.
