I took Dr. Housenick's class online. Would definitely recommend taking it online! I hate writing and I personally do not think that I'm the best writer out there, but I did my best and asked questions and received an 97% for this class. One thing is, I don't recommend buying the textbooks. Did not use them at all! Wait before buying or buy used!

Dr. Housenick is a professional, courteous, and understanding professor. I attended the class online which was a first for me. He clearly explains the assignments, provides copious amount of resources, and will return emails promptly. Many times I emailed asking for a better understanding of the assignment with respectful and explanatory responses.

I loved Dr. Housenicks class. There were a lot of pointless assignments, but helped get a higher overall grade. He comes off a grading stickler but he's not. Offers help but only if you are a "good student", he doesn't really care to help if you slack off or don't show up. One con is he talks about sexual topics often and it can be uncomfortable.

Comment:
As far as grading goes, Housenick is very generous and there is always extra credit offered after each paper. But it's very hard to keep up with the amount of homework given. Deadlines are unclear and homework isn't helpful to papers. This is easily the hardest ENG 102 you will take. Not worth all the stress.

Dr. Housenick is a professor you don't mind having at 8 a.m. as he is funny and the class isn't that difficult. You primarily spend time on learning or fixing very common grammatical issues and writing papers to prepare for the writing competency exam. The class is one of the best ENG101 from what I can tell and you will do fine if you show up.

Amazing teacher! Really explains everything well, I would totally take his class if you could. Only assigns a few papers, nothing big. Barely any quizs or test.

I had Dr. Housenick over winter-intersession for Eng 102 and he was great. Supplied examples of every paper we needed to write, and was very quick to respond to emails. He is a very tough grader, but an A or B is very possible, just make sure to take part in discussions, if online!

Due to his involvement with the honor society, I was apprehensive to take this class with Dr. Housenick. He makes you work, read, & write, & while I wasn't always happy about it at the time, by the end of the semester he ignited a newfound passion within me for literature. I highly recommend him - his intelligence and passion for art is contagious

DO NOT TAKE HIM! This was the only class I ever had to drop! He is simply awful. He made us read erotic articles, it was extremely uncomfortable. He also gave me an 80 on a paper with no justification. Take someone else or regret it later.

Dr. Housenick is one of the best teachers at LCCC. He is very clear with what he expects on the writing assignments. He has his own website on LCCC that has all the information that you could possibly need. This is not an easy A class, you absolutely have to work hard. But if you do the work and ask questions when necessary you will do well.

Dr. Housenick is very to the point. He will tell you exactly what needs to get done. He Provides outlines, examples, powerpoints, and gives plenty of time to get assignments turned in. Extra credit is available if you so choose. This is not an "easy A" class. You will earn your grade.

Dr. Housenick seems to have a bad rep as a tough instructor, but I found him to be very fair. He offers plenty of EC assignments, and is even open to student-suggested EC assignments. You can earn up to 10 additional points on your papers, so by doing all of them you can easily add a full letter to your current average. Work hard and get an "A"

He does use sexual references quite a bit but I didn't have a problem with the class. His periodic joke making made English not so boring as it would normally be. He grades fair you just have to show up to class write decent papers and you'll be fine. Also, he gives templates for papers so all you have to do is fill it in and you have your paper.

This guy is all over the place! His thoughts are just alllllll over the place. Way too hard to stay focused. His sexual references are way too uncomfortable and weird. I used to love English, he ruined it completely for me! He is also a very opinionated guy, which is't a bad thing.. but sometimes just so annoying. gets off topic way too much.

Extremely difficult class. This professor needs to work on his clarity. Also, utilizes sexual references in his assignments. Very uncomfortable and unnecessary to say the least. Overall, poor teaching style
