Incredibly rigid in her beliefs about proper acting, voice, and movement technique. Very tough grader and is not accommodating to students who don't understand her or the content she is trying to teach. Tough class. Hard for shy students.

Amazing personality. Knows her stuff and really helps you as a physical actor. So hilarious as a teaching personality. Grading for journals and performances is tough. I got screwed over because she wouldn't accept my journal due to an error in submitting it, so be sure to double-check that your assignments get through to her. Practice outside class

She is a fabulous teacher! She is tough but fair. She always has time for her students, and she really wants them to succeed. I read what someone said about her directing, and I am in total disagreement. Her plays are the only plays at Chapman that are innovative, character driven and entertaining. Her directing is excellent, because she is.

I've taken at least 1 class with her every semester since I've been at Chapman and for you incoming freshmen who might be checking this page out before you start in the fall, Professor Washington cares so deeply about students. She may not be the best director in the world, but she sure knows how to teach.
