Comment:
At first, Professor Haye was a mystery for me. However, persistence, determination, and asking questions helped me a lot. Being in Canada for almost 30 yrs, a US CPA candidate and English as my household language, helped me too. After attending all classes, doing all assign., quizzes, term paper, rewrites, and oral pres., she gave me a decent mark.

Harsh but good feedback. If English is not your first language this will be very challenging. She is very clear on what she wants usually so if it's not exactly how she said, you will receive low mark. Always ask questions and she will explain to you.

If you put in the EFFORT, she really rewards it. She really rewards participation. She noticed an awkward situation I had with a classmate who was bothering me and was amazingly understanding, helped sort it out after class. Great instructor, I love her. Blunt, sometimes sassy (loveable IMO), but genuine+helpful in feedback. 1216 is textbook heavy.

Awful is putting it lightly. If youre wondering why you see both Awesome and Awful in the reviews, its because she plays favorites and doesnt try to hide it. Even if you do all the work and show up for every class, it wont matter if she doesnt like you. She contradicts her own instructions. If you care about your marks, avoid her classes.

Tanya is the best prof I've had, she gives everything to you straight up which I think is the right thing to do as a teacher. She's willing to help you with the work and if you pay attention and do your stuff you'll pass. Shes caring of the class and genuinely wants everyone to pass. Get to know her well and she's like a friend, best prof!!

I have to say, I did not learn much from Tanya. Her teaching solely consisted of her sitting back and letting students perform and give each other feedback. Also, she favors students, gives unclear and inconsistent instructions. Her marking is heavily influenced by her liking.

BEST PROF EVER! She is very fun to have as a prof! She taught me so much from her course that I will use throughout life! Honest feedback and the work load was good. She might seen intimidating at first, but once you get to know her and understand what she is expecting, the course is a lot of fun!

Took her public speaking course. She gives good feedback on how to improve your speeches. She expects a lot from your speeches but is very nice and wants to see you succeed and improve. BE AWARE: IF YOU MISS MORE THAN 2 CLASSES (INCLUDING ONLINE CLASSES) YOU FAIL. Half the class dropped it because of this. Good class to help with presentations.

Tanya has high expectafjons but if she sees you put effort into your work you will succeed. You will be expected to post weekly online to the prompt given to you and read most weeks. Tanya outlines what she wants to see, so as long as you pay attention and follow directions, the class itself is easy.

Tanya is very blunt, but she wants you to be successful. As long as you apply her feedback and follow the structures, you'll do great! 4 speeches total for marks, and you have to show up to class those days. every other week she'll just ask you to post a video of you doing your speech on blackboard, and not come to class. Easy A with effort!

She is very nice but she never gives a good feedback. Getting an A in this course is not possible and specially if you are taking it from Tanya. She gives so much homework and then if homework is not correct, you have to do it again.

Currently in one of her BCIT COMM courses. She's difficult but is the type of person that respects hard work. As someone who studies computer science, I figured I would half-ass this course and focus more on my other courses. Well I got burned to say the least. She requires work ethic from you. Give her class an honest effort and you'll do well.

She includes many pointless mini assignment not worth all that much - but if you skip even one or two, she will have a vindictive marking response on your larger assignments. There is no clear marking criteria and her instructions often include mistakes. If you fall for those mistakes, she will blame you for them and give absolutely NO feedback.

Tough marker, but if you do the work, she is willing to help you. Her instructions are sometimes unclear, and it's always good to follow up what she wants. She'll change grade weight accordingly if you actually try. Received an A when I should've gotten a B-.
