This man needs to retire. Talks at 1 word/minute and makes us use the most outdated technology for web dev (no Javascript allowed!!). Everything covered in the semester can be done in 3 weeks. Don't waste your time here unless you desperately need an A.

If you are dying to look for an A, go to his class. But all his lecture contains stuff you never want to listen

Easy class if you have web programming fundamentals. Attendance owns 40% credits. However there is a quite a lot redundancy in lectures and he speaks really slow which lacks efficiency. Materials he taught in two weeks can actually be covered in two hours and the techniques are outdated. No phones and computer are allowed to use during class.

Good class...very easy, but you still learn something. He gets a bit pissy if people don't attend class. What he doesn't understand is that this is a good thing - the coursebook (which he wrote and provides for free) is so good that going to class is pointless.

Talks too dam*n much. Will usually bring the day's slides up on the projector and get to the hour mark of class before he starts to talk about them. The first hour is a big current events conversation with himself about technology that he seems to have massive problems with. Can't avoid but bring Soduku or a crossword, you'll learn more from those.

He wastes too much time in class. Chances are you can't avoid taking a class with him, though. As long as you know your stuff, you're ok. He'll chew you out if you don't.

Great prof! He's got a lot of BS but he actually is one of the only Engineering profs that teaches you something you'll actually use -- trust me you won't use half the stuff in Engineering but you'll use programming in .NET...

Don't try to learn in class. Just sit and enjoy the show. Keep asking questions about his stories and see how long he goes on for. Class isn't that useful, but it rarely is for computer classes. Anyways, he's nice, and he'll very willingly answer questions.

I really like Skinner, actually. A lot of people find him annoying, which I don't disagree with, but he's much better in 447 than he was in 440. In 447 you actually learn a lot in class, even though he still tells a lot of random stories and wastes the first 20 minutes of class. Overall good guy.

He loves Microsoft so much. Once you cut through that though he's not a bad guy... just don't try to do anything other than in Microsoft products... He does waste a lot time in class sometimes, but does end up conveying information appropriately.

Oh my God. Parrot back exactly what this guy says and you will do well on the exams. The guy goes on tangents that take up 75% of class time, and he is a damn slave to Micro$oft. Avoid Tom Skinner if at all possible.
