He is a straight shooter. I got an "A" because I read everything and submitted everything on time. I also did the extra credit. If you do the same you will get a great grade! Chavez is super cool! Take him!

The best online class I have taken!! Everything is clear. You will take 4 tests, one essay midterm, three discussion boards and one final paper. He explains everything so just do the readings and submit everything on time. Also, he likes to meet students in person so go see him. great teacher!!

greatest teacher on campus! very good speaker and he tells great stories of the past. take Dr. Chavez before you graduate! He also tells everyone to go to a UC school! I am going to UCLA instead of SDSU. I owe chavez!

Professor Vic Chavez is a very good man. He can seem harsh at first but he fully cares about students and if you pay attention you will learn a lot and succeed. This was the second time that I took Chavez and I would take him again if was not transferring to a university in the fall.

Im not sure why so many students rave about Chavez. Professor Chavez made it extremely hard to be interested in this course as he was lacking organizational skills. He would lecture from the top of his head and use slides from years ago. Due to this not many students showed up for lectures and made the class boring. He also criticizes your work

Unfortunately, this class was extremely difficult to follow and do well in. Although I did agree with the Professor's political stance, he really left no room for debate and was extremely condescending towards anyone who had an opinion to offer. He also constantly talked about how successful he and his family are. As a MAS major, I hated it.

If you believe that you can change America for the better by reading good books. Then take Chavez. I read Chris Hedges and Howard Zinn in his class and these two books opened my eyes! Chavez is super nice. Go to class and do the readings. I got a B grade.

So like his class is alright, he's going to give you his take on everything, and if you agree then you'll enjoy the class. But when it comes to disputing opinions, he does kinda put you on blast. Overall he's a nice guy, helps out when you're absent, but the class does get repetitive at times.

Professor Chavez is a real gentleman. I visited him in his office and he was patient and understanding. I wish all teachers would act like him: very, very, positive and professional. I am a retired engineer and I took his class just for fun, however, I believe all students should take him. Good luck!

Wow! This class was amazing! Professor Victor Chavez is a very intelligent man that teaches with passion. His class was inspirational and he really wants to see you succeed. Attendance is not mandatory if youre able to do all the reading and understand everything. I would take his class again if I could.

Excellent teacher! Go to his office for help. I did and I got a "B" grade. Also, do the readings. He knows his stuff!!
