Comment:
Dr. Gollar teaches Theology starts the course talking about our own pasts, he made every student make a family tree. Then he starts to talk about slavery which he knows a lot about but can be distracting from the readings he assigns. In my experience his tangents can be annoying and boring. The class itself is easy .no need to take notes.

Comment:
Professor Gollar is a really great guy, very nice and genuinely cares about his students. He definitely needs to work on his organization though, because his lectures tend to be all over the place and it's hard to follow along with what he's talking about. Also, he has quizzes for every class day, which is a pain in the butt to keep up with.

Comment:
Dr. Gollar is a solid professor. There are three tests. Test one, a midterm and a final. Some of the answers on his tests you can only get if you attended class, they wont be in the readings anywhere or they wont be online. He tends to ramble on a lot about his home life a lot, but if you engage with him he is a fun professor.

He is without a doubt the nicest professor and one of the best human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He genuinely cares about his students and takes time to learn about them. He's a sweet guy who is so excited to be teaching and loves his work. He is a highly respected author and historian. always gives specific review for tests.

Dr. Gollar has not only been one of my favorite professors, but is one of my favorite people on campus. Christian sexual ethics is the most interesting class, and I got so much out of it. Sweetest guy ever, easy class and very well worth it, tells a lot of personal stories, but also really wants to hear about you. He truly cares for his students.

This class does require a good amount of reading, but if you follow along and work well this could easily become your favorite class and professor! Gollar is deeply committed to his students and I would recommend him to any one! No matter what class he is teaching, I guarantee that it will be a class worth taking!

This professor is amazing. If you're an atheist, take Dr. Gollar and you'll see why religion exists. He grounds everything in the kind of humanity that religion always seems to be missing. Talks about people rather than doctrine, emotion rather than creed; and he's great to talk to as well. Overall a great guy and a great class.

Clearly an extremely passionate and awesome guy. He knows his stuff. Like really well. If you're good at absorbing knowledge without detailed note taking, you'll love him. You may struggle a bit learning what there is to learn if you're very detail oriented. Lots of work and lots of quizzes but tests were take home. Funny and awesome.

Passionate teacher. Lecture w/ some discussion. Class isn't always helpful: sometimes goes on long digressions. But he does summarize the main points, which can help for the short-answer exams. Reading can be dull: often comes w/ Blackboard quiz. Take notes on main points of student presentations. Openly skeptical of some major Christian teachings.

Great teacher! Very interested in the subject and full of energy every class. Tells you exactly what he wants from you so it's easy to do well. You also get many chances on the paper you have to write, so you can end up with an A+. Highly recommend!

Gollar is awesome! He is really quirky and always full of energy. I wasn't interested at all but managed to stay awake in every class. I never did the reading and still pulled off a B+. Most of your grade is the blackboard quizzes and tests. Great guy, VERY interested in the topic. I recommend!

Very quirky guy, but extremely nice and helpful. Class is pretty easy, if you do the work, and there is a lot of it. None is that difficult. Tests are not too difficult, but the workload gets heavy towards the end. Can be difficult to juggle with other classes. Very fun and very enthusiastic toward the subject, so you end up learning alot.

He is such a sweet guy. He likes to jump around a lot, but his stories are fun to listen to. His tests are a bit difficult, and there are online quizzes for homework every night, but he is terrific and always willing to help. Participate in his class! It helps on the test.

He's a really great guy who really wants you to do well. As long as you listen in class, talk every now and then and do the quizzes on Blackboard then you'll be more than set for an A. He jumps around a lot in class but going is so worth it as most of what we talk about in class is on the test. Tests are short answer...if you don't know put down KY
