Comment:
Organic chemistry is difficult regardless of who you take, but Dr. Crowe made it manageable. He gave practice exams that were like the actual exams, though I found the actual exams a bit more difficult. Yes, he is condescending and rude. If you go to his office, he will call you stupid to your face. Study and you should be fine. Good grading scale.

Comment:
Crowe did not give homework that correlated with the test material so there was not good practice material. He does not teach well, all he does is talk and expect you to understand. Put things on the tests that we had not learned yet. Made everything extremely difficult.

No one goes to his classes. Boring lectures. Very condescending and inaccessible outside of class. Goes on random rants. Makes petty comments and is overall mean. Only good thing about this class that he gives practice exams with answer keys that are helpful because his exams are similar.

This guy cannot teach to save his life. Don't bother showing up to class and find a tutor fast if you want to succeed. His tests are easy though, only because he provides the previous years' test as study material. I do not know organic at all and am scared for Orgo 2.

If you go to his office hours BEWARE, he will start to pull your tests to look at but not to help but to see if you are cheating particularly in a group. In Organic MULTIPLE students aide one another. Instead of pulling the student aside he will write an email asking for the person to come forward scaring everyone, even those who do not cheat.

By far the best teacher for organic chemistry. Tests are doable if you study ahead of time. Overall, I learn a lot.

Felt like he was very rude and condescending during lecture. Would talk really loudly to TA's during exams. Learned mainly from SI and Youtube. 4th and final were not like practice exams. Posted problems to know for the exam but no explanation or answer key. Sends out condescending emails. Would not take him again and thank god I don't have to

Dr. Crowe is the clear choice for Ochem. His tests are not bad and gives as much partial credit as possible. He's accessible outside of class and he really is not that bad of a teacher if you go to class and listen. Most people think he is rude because they are college students, but he is not bad at all. Again, the clear choice.

He never uses Moodle or answers emails so you never know what your grade is. Hes extremely rude to students which makes it very discouraging to ask questions as he answers in a condescending tone. He never allowed us the resources on tests that other classes got for the same test. I would not recommend him if you actually want to learn Ochem.

I learned almost everything in SI and on my own from youtube. The grading scale is amazing and there are plenty of bonus point opportunities. Be ready to put in a lot of work because o chem is hard regardless of which professor you take. His practice exams are very similar to the the actual exams so I mostly studied from that and SI worksheets.

Easiest class ever. You didnt have to show up to pass because the SI (hunter) helped a lot. The tests he gives you are similar to the past exams!

Tests became increasingly more difficult with new material. 5 exams and your lowest score counts as 2%. Lots of bonus, great SI. Not impossible if you do well in the beginning. Sapling HW was annoying. Rambles a lot so I went to SI to learn the material.

He can be funny but can also be really mean and rude. His lectures are really really boring. His first two tests are pretty easy and the 3rd and 4th are harder and resemble the final. The final was very hard. He's a good teacher but not the best. He wants you to learn the material and does not want to trick you like Davila.

I stopped going to class after the 2nd test because he made me furious. He has a funny side, but he is extremely rude most of the time. He refuses to use Moodle. The only reason I would take this class again is because of his grading scale. If you are planning on taking the MCAT, I would definitely take another prof to actually LEARN the material.

Really cool teacher, he made organic not too boring. He knows what he is talking about and really approachable to ask questions. He also gives you previous exams so you have a general idea of what is going to be tested. However, organic is hard so I do not suggest slacking even though he is a good teacher.

Crowe is quirky - he loves corny jokes. Lectures are dry and not mandatory, and tests are the easiest in the department (supposedly). Bear in mind that this is ochem - you still need to study. Textbook helps a lot. I would suggest showing up to class and actually paying attention. SI helps a lot too. You can get a good grade if put in some effort.

Organic chemistry is a hard class no matter who you take. Dr. Crowe is a great professor but you have to stay on top of the material. If you put the work in, you will get the grade you want. He also posts past exams for study material, they are extremely helpful and a great representation of exam questions. Definitely go to SI and exam reviews!
