Best professor ever. I was a music major, c/o 2000. Amzie was my adviser all 4 years, and I took no less than 2 of his classes every semester except for when I was student teaching. Classes were challenging, but he was so excited about everything he taught that you couldn't help getting caught up in it yourself.

Worst teacher ever. he never makes sense with his lectures, classes are boring, expects you to understand music, while most people do not. (i.e. music history) tests are impossible and his study guides are worthless. Should retire!!!!!

I love this man, but he's so disorganized in his lectures! It's confusing to try to follow his train of thought. Good humor, though and very personable. He's better directing consort/concert band/jazz band and the like.

Never stuck to the syllubus. His lectures are never linear, making it really difficult to take notes. Digresses way too much and skips around. It also sometimes seems that there is information on the test that was never covered in class.
