Comment:

Prof. Rushing is an excellent professor. She is very blunt and to the point, and that is hard for a lot of students to take. Prof. Rushing will make you reach beyond your understanding of what excellence is. It is very difficult to have her as an instructor. She is not supposed to be your friend. he is an educator. I enrolled in 3 of her courses.

Useless class and professor. Her only half-plausible point was to not go overboard with "deep thoughts" but no thought was good enough for her. She seems to want to have a movie made of her and her "unorthodox" ways. Sorry, Dr. Rushing, but we can't read your mind and it gets tiresome trying to do so.

I wish I could have checked the "retired/gone" box for this professor. Disorganized, pretentious, and (worst of all) uninterested in teaching. Lousy teacher, not worth your time. (And btw, I am a hard-working Amherst student and not "spoiled"; I doubt that the high raters here are students at all.)

Prof. Rushing is mean and I like it. She just wants us to take a second look at ourselves and realise that we know a lot, be we don't know everything. I learned a great deal in her class. She is one of my faves. There's a reason why they keep her around.

You will learn a lot of humility in her class, and some of you all need it. Be smart. Do your reading, research the crap, and be teachable, you won't have a problem. Act like Amherst students and she'll eat you alive. :)

Very Smart, but pretentious and critical ad naseum. Seldom leads effective class discussion, often lost papers, assignments, etc. Deinitely played favorites, put more effort into her wardrobe than her classes.

Professor Rushing, is a no b.s. type teacher. She doesn't cater to Amherst student egos like a lot of teachers on campus do but insteads gets right to the point and expects her students to do the same. She is extremely intelligent and great teacher!

I have no respect for this woman. She seems to thrive on proving students' ignorance. Very unclear, unhelpful, nonsensical even. Definitely prefers students who come to her office hours.

The most disorganized professor I have ever had. She repeats herself in class and is incredibly prideful. Always late, has lost papers. Very unprofessional. Mean and discouraging, yet ultimately an easy grader.
