Course material was really eye-opening. Requires A LOT of online discussion participation. Not a huge fan of Critical Review Essays, but she provides clear rubrics, which were very helpful.

Comment:

A solid choice. Class is an average amount of work with 2 discussion questions and replies per week, a critical essay, small group project that includes creating a powerpoint, and a final essay. No tests or quizzes. Explains everything well and is available via email. You don't even have to read the book each week to do discussions.

Comment:

Dr. Dean was one of the best teachers I've ever had at New Paltz. She cared so much about the students in the class and was always available. There was little work outside of the actual class, but I felt like I learned so much during the class. I look forward to taking any class taught by her that fits my concentration in the future.

Dr. Ann is the best professor I have ever had. She is very knowledgeable and is so hilarious. I will take as many classes as I can with her. I cannot stress how good of a professor she is. Everyone should try to take a class with her. This class should be required for all education students. I also took her for EDS 340, which was great.

Dr. Ann is the best teacher I have ever had. She is very knowledgeable and so hilarious. I would take as many classes with her as possible. I can't stress how great of a professor she is. Classes are discussion based, and there isn't that much work. This course should be required for all education students. I also took EDS 340 with her.

every week you will have to write a summary of what you read and there is one group project and one paper. The final exam is easy. The class was hard to take seriously since we only met once a week and she cancelled it 3 times. It will make you think a lot about ethical issues in teaching. She't not anti-american she's anti- institution.

Nice woman, until the last day when she called the class a failure. Asks for participation, but then judges your opinion. Cancels class and assignments all the time, barely grades assignments. Had the potential of being an interesting class but I was disappointed with the lack of information actually being taught.

She was nice, and I liked that I could skip classes and not be punished for it. Made us read alot of material on educational issues, then write summaries of each. Class was pretty much a big debate between students. She's pretty close-minded about liberal issues, and defends her side relentlessly. I found the class interesting overall.

Very nice lady and. My only issue is that the course should have been named Education for the Extreme Liberal. I am a liberal myself but WOW some of this stuff was even too much for me to swallow. She appreciated all points of view and was a fair grader but the assignments were all based on her beliefs and were very one sided.

Dr. Ann is a wonderful professor. She stayed involved with the coursework throughout the online summer session. Moreover she is extremely organized and clear. I suggest taking this class with her. She is an excellent teacher, with lots of experience. You will read, write and learn from this class. Beneficial for all age groups.

I think Dr. Ann only teaches the online section, but she's awesome. If you need this class for Ed. or to fulfill WI, definitely take her. Even though it's online, she tries to make it seem like it's an in-class discussion. There is a significant amount of reading, but you'll be glad you took the class with her. Requirements are clearly stated.

Took this class online during a summer session, and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Ann makes this class so easy. yeah, a weekly discussion and a lot of reading are required, but you learn alot, and fulfill a Writing Intensive requirement for easy stuff. Excellent Professor!!!

She was the best professor I've had so far in my three years of college. She was extremely helpful and concerned about what we were really learning. She wasn't about heavy testing and writing for her final grade, but more about your opinion and willingness to think and express it in class and online

Online course- very work-intensive: weekly participation in web forum based on reading, group reading project, long paper. No tests. Choice of what books you read. Excellent prof, helpful and forgiving, makes you think- this course improved me, excellent for Education majors. Heavy workload worth it
