Arturo is a very odd professor. I had him for 110 and I did not like him but once I have him now for 111 I like him a lot! He is very knowledgeable about so many things. He is a professor who teaches for the subject rather than the tests. Plus he is hilarious! I am honored to have him as a professor in his last semester before he retires.

He's very tough. He's so intelligent, but it's hard to learn from his class. He won't teach you anything, just read from the textbook and tell random stories. You need to know Spanish in order to do well on the tests.

Known as "Professor Efe"-- he likes to give F's. He likes to scream "efe" at you if you mispronounce something. He likes to yell, dance, sing, and laugh. His classes are crazy. He reads straight from the book. I love Spanish, but I had a hard time in this class. His accent is hard to understand, especially when he mumbles, which is all the time.

Dr. Ortiz is a really smart guy and can be tough because he expects a lot out of his students. Hes EXTREMELY helpful if he feels like you want to really learn and get something out of the class. Overall hes a great teacher highly recommend him! Just be prepared for his craziness and he will poke fun at you! Very interesting to listen too!

Dr. Ortiz is a very intelligent man and funny. Yeah he can be hard on students and might not help you out at times but you're in college and need to go beyond the classrom and from the textbook that was needed for the class. I highly recommend this professor.

Very funny. Sometimes rambles, but overall a good professor. Always entertained in class but he takes his students learning very seriously. You really need to do your homework and participate to enjoy class to the fullest.

He is not helpful at all. I went to him on several different occasions and he didn't provide me with any extra help just simply told me to read the book (which I was doing). He reads the book to you in class and doesn't hardly ever give any extra explanation. Unless your good at language I would not recommend this professor!!!!

He hates America!! He dislikes us, "rich white kids who would never join the military." He thinks the Latino culure's culture is far superior to our white-western culture. Did I say he hates American? Well, he does alot! His English is not very good, by the time we began SPA111, Ortiz couldn't understand our questions about the language anymore.
