Comment:

Recommend if you're not into bio but need it as a req. Taught in a format that gives you a lot of general info rather than memorizing pathways and doing the worksheets in BIS2A. With that said, there is still a lot to remember, but a lot more straightfoward and somewhat common knowledge. Online lectures pretty dry, lots of clipart and pictures.

This class was alright. The 10 page paper is a pain in the butt and takes forever but it's totally doable. The tests are super easy and literally come from the review questions so just study those and you'll be fine. If you have a choice between this and Bis 2a, take this class! It's easy!

I enjoyed taking this online course. I didn't read the lecture notes every day, more like once a week and read the week's worth of material. The 10 page paper does take a lot of work, but you have to put effort in to be successful in anything you do. The tests are based on review questions, and if you understand the material, it's simple. Recommend

What a pain this class was. Just memorize the questions, and you'll do fine. My TA was TERRIBLE --- Watch out for William Cameron Jasper. Useless and lacked transparency in grading of the papers. I did fine, but I wouldn't take this class again if someone paid me. MEMORIZE THE REVIEW QUESTIONS!

This class was ridiculously hard. Everyone says just study the review questions and you'll be fine but there are about 300!!!! And that was just for the midterm. The research paper was intense and difficult. Have to admit final was actually word for word from the review questions but there were about 400-500 questions!!!

1midterm,1final..lecture notes are super long, just skim,and memorize all of the review prob..1 research paper,have to do good on it coz it counts almost 50% of the whole grade..the tests prob are the same as the review prob!just a few from the notes,final is easier than the midterm. take it as a GE class is good!!

I really like the online format so I could do things on my own time. The format is really easy to follow. Don't need the book, memorize the review questions. I did learn a lot, it was a great intro to bio for me, a social science person.

Online lectures were too long, just skim and study review questions. 1 midterm, 1 final which contained mostly review questions. 1 essay which was fairly easy. Just put in the effort. Do weekly discussion question! Don't buy textbook, textbook material are not on the tests. You'll do well on the exams if you memorize all answers to review questions

Pretty fair class. Make sure you take the time to answer the weekly discussion questions and put effort into the single essay in order to take pressure off the two exam scores. The "lectures" were too time consuming IMO, I ended up just memorizing the review Qs. Be warned though there are a huge amount of review Qs. Give yourself time to study.

The lectures were supposed to be 50 minutes long 3 days a week. But she puts so much information in her slides that there's NO way you can make it through one lecture in 50 minutes, especially if you're taking notes. I eventually gave up and just made flashcards out of the review questions and still got an A on the midterm. Basically memorization.

Online course. The lecture questions make up the midterm/final, but it's hard to study them. On the lecture, the question will be mult. choice but there won't be choices to pick from (just a drop down menu with the answer). My TA asked questions that could only be answered with extra research for discussion questions. All in all, expect to memorize

super nice lady-was very helpful & flexible. all you have to do is memorize the review questions-its on the midterm & final WORD FOR WORD. online lectures are long. 1 easy essay. argue if you get marked off on the midterm, sometimes her choices are ambiguous & she'll just give you the points for just writing her with the explanations. EASY A!

Got an A but I didn't learn much. The lectures are very long and there is really no need to read them since she gives review questions and 80% of the tests are the exact same questions. No need for a book either. Take this class to raise your GPA.

This is one tough cookie if you lack a photographic memory. There are about 150 questions to memorize for the midterm and 350 for the final. Other than that, the convinience of having an online course is unique. Do your potings, essays, set some time aside to study a day or two before, and you'll enjoy yourself a good grade. A- here.

Awful, the lectures are boring and longer than if you were to sit through a normal 2 hour lecture. The review questions in the lectures hardly help with studying, the first midterm had very specific questions that were never addressed in the lectures. In all the lectures were horrible, don't take bio online, it's terrible!
