Comment:

Dr. Eardly is such a cool dude but this lab was very challenging. There were 6 exams given in lab and they were pretty hard. His review guide wasn't so helpful so I never studied them but the lab worksheets were great for studying. Student's grades can drop pretty low because of the exams but Dr. Eardly bumps up final grades when he wants to!

Comment:

He lectures a lot, it's a little difficult to figure out what you should take notes on from his lectures. His exams are straightforward and he tells you everything that will be on them. He's very knowledgeable about plant biology, so he can answer any questions students have.

Hardest lab you will ever take, he gives you over 5 sections in your lab book and then just randomly picks 15 detailed questions to test you on. His study guides do not even cover all the sections he tested you and he typically emails them to you an hour before the test. The study guides are also useless.

Do not take microbiology lab with Eardly. He makes it impossible to end with an A+. Exams are every other week, impossible to study for considering he is not clear on the material that will be on the exam. DOES NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS CLEARLY. Good luck is all I gotta say.

Print his slides prior to class and take notes on them. He's very helpful and draws really helpful diagrams on the board that are usually the long answers on the test. I liked him alot!

Not the greatest professor for Bio, lecture isnt that great but the work is pretty straightforward and not that complicated, some aspects of the work associated with the class is just plain annoying however

Eardly was completely useless. He talks like the guy off of the eye drops commercial in a complete monotone voice. He reads right off of the PowerPoint and tells you to study whats not on the test. I worked my a** off to get a B- when I was expecting an A+. If you can help it don't take his class.

Had him for micro 201, half of biol 240W, and biol 405. He isn't that bad of a professor He goes almost perfectly with the book, so if you miss class just read that section in the book and you'll be fine. There is lots of vocab which is great since its easy points on the test. I never got anything lower than a B - in his classes and I hardly went

Horrible professor. I loved Biology before this class. Often repeats himself. He was my adviser for my degree (Biology) and was not helpful at all. Make sure you put your section number on EVERYTHING. First professor I truly HATE.

had him for bio 110 and micro 201. a good guy. he will always help you the best he can. lectures are a little dry, but pay attention, study notes, and vocab; and tests are a breeze.

I took Eardly for 110 and I have him again for 201. He's really not that bad. You only need the book to do outlines (which are graded really easily) and for vocab words. It's a piece of cake, just make some flash cards. Always print out his lecture notes from ANGEL, that's where 95% of his test questions are from (aside from vocab.)

dr. eardly is not a terrible professor. he requires hard work and lots of studying. but let's wake up. THIS IS COLLEGE. "easy" is not what you will get. yes. he is hard, but understanding. and when you do get a good grade, it is all worth it.

You have to memorize 1000 words, if you do that you get an I. Lecture is boring, and he cant answer any qeustions. He thinks SOURDOUGH bread is the essence of biology.He loves plants, and one day he fell off his bike while riding it around campus. I almost for got to say that he brings his lecture notes on a single purple or pink post it note.

He makes you memorize a ridiculous amount of vocab (should I say at least 200 for each exam),honestly. He doesn't answer your questions, and he is very unhelpful as a professor and an advisor. AVOID him if you can.

He makes you remember way to many vocab words for the final and he never knows any of the answers to your questions. His response is always thats a good question. He is the worst teacher I have had so far.

If you don't have to take this class then DON'T! You will have to memorize almost 700 vocab words by the final (I'm not exaggerating), and he is by far one of the worst teachers I have had. When you ask him a questions he will tell you "I don't know" then will never get back to you. AVOID HIM!
