Comment:
A low personal character that bleeds into his academic professionalism. Insecure, cryptic, and highly subjective, he tunes in and out of the class conversation and lashes out at individuals or the class at-large (but usually an individual that he's pegged) sometimes almost randomly for not seeing things from anything but his oblique perspective.

Mr. Braithwaite is among the most talented educators in the United States, and I would cheerfully listen to his opinions on any subject imaginable - at worst, Id learn something valuable.

Comment:
Mr. Braithewaite is a brilliant man and a patient, passionate tutor. Music class with him was extremely challenging but in a good way. He demands nothing more of his students than a genuine curiosity and desire to learn. However, he scored very low on clarity for me simply because he is often very cryptic when giving assignments.

Knows what he is doing! Makes you actually use your brain to figure things out instead of just memorizing a proof. Encourages those who don't participate to join the conversation by gently asking them their opinion in class. Lab was my hardest class but by far the most intellectually fulfilling! If you're up to the challenge, it will def pay off!

He demands logic, insight, and clarity. He is intolerant of flippant comments and incoherent ramblings, there need to be more professors like him at SJC.

Comment:
I can understand the other ratings. He is very convicted about his opinions and approaches. He can also be very abrasive. But if he's paired with a less rigid prof (like Mr. Higuera) he is excellent. Perhaps he just doesn't like *unreasoned* student opinions. I had him for two study gropus, and he was *excellent*. I learned a great deal.

overly harsh, wrong most of the time, misjudges often, comes to ridiculously mean assumptions about students, likes brown nosers, is truly not interested in anyone or anyone elses opinion but his own, does not mesh well with this school.

Mean-spirited and agressive. Former law professor with little formal background in Humanities. Has been seen by many as petty and holding a grudge.
