Comment:

Lectures for this class are necessary as there is no textbook. Meguid does a great job making the lectures interesting but you have to attend. There are also a lot of readings that are necessary to read for recitation and the midterm and final. Overall a great professor.

Comment:

Had Meguid for PSC/IR 101. All in all an excellent professor. Meguid clearly establishes her expectations and gives you clear directions for what she expects from her students. As long as you pay attention in class and do the expected readings you should do fine in her class. Also very open to helping students after class and during office hours.

She is an amazing professor. The class is difficult but manageable. If you attend lectures and take notes you will be fine. I didn't do any of the readings and I still did really well. Her lectures are very engaging, and I didn't even like the material. She is one of my favorite professors and I intend on taking more classes with her.

Comment:

Professor Meguid is terrific, professional, and clear. Her lectures are absolutely necessary; no attendance required but, without being present in class, you will miss vital information. She gives a lot of info very fast, so be prepared to type very quickly. A lot of reading for an intro class. Grades based entirely on two exams and recitation!

She is a BRILLIANT professor. She is super knowledgeable and fills each class with lots of good information. Very respectful of students' opinions, too. Her grading is tough, so be prepared to study a lot for the midterm and final but if you like polysci or IR, the studying is interesting and the class is worth the work!

It's easy to get a B but very difficult to get an A. Meguid is very clear and organized in her lectures. If you want an A, you have to do all the readings, but to get a B you only need to skim the readings.

Excellent lectures, crystal clear on expectations. The material was interesting. Excessive reading for an intro class - it was unexpected. Her lectures are kind of dry but the class goes quickly. Tough grader. Generally an above-average difficulty class.

She is clear, but 300 page readings in a 101 course on "theories" gets old quickly. Material is rather boring, but if you're really into poli sci you might like it. Just don't make my mistake of thinking 101 is an intro course, because it's really not.

Her class was very structured and clear but not interesting. She was not very lively and just spit out lot of information. She did make a joke... once. If a question was asked in class she seemed annoyed. She was clear about what she wanted on exams. Make sure you go to class and take good notes. Doing the readings is not so necessary.

Meguid is very structured. She provides outlines for all her lectures and tells you exactly what she expects from her students. The only thing that bothered me about her was that she talks too fast during lectures. It is easy to get a B in this course but not a A. There are a ton of readings. Some topics of the class are really interesting.

PRofessor Meguid is very knowledgeable and her lectures are very structured. It might not be the most interesting material to everyone, but, she makes it crystal clear what she wants. Also, she is very helpful in class and out of class!

She does not know how to connect ideas, and just spits out information. When you ask her a question, bank on her having no idea what the answer is. TAs are more qualified and better instructors.

In her 267 class, you do have to read and attend lectures if you want an A. You can't BS her exams, and she knows when you don't know the material. Lectures are a tad bit dry, and there's a good amount of reading, but the content is not difficult to grasp and she is very open to helping students.
