Comment:

He only gives you 3 exams for the whole class. However the exams are way too hard and ask for too many details. Tests are mostly fill in the blank and essays. His style of lecture is bad, he doesnt know how to convey information and brags about how most student fail the exams. I would stay away, only class Ive ever dropped so that says something.

Comment:

Worst teacher I've ever encountered, period. He is knowledgeable about his subject but doesn't teach it. There were only two test about 8 chapters worth each, and you had to know everything about each chapter. Tests were fill in the blank and essay format. He has 0 personal skills and makes the entire class feel uncomfortable. STAY AWAY!

Comment:

Attendance is a must, as it only counts AGAINST you. Don't sit in the front unless you like punishing yourself, as he addresses the whole class by addressing one person? It's weird, but he does it. Tests: there are only 2 in my class, each one was consisted of about 8 chapters per test, very hard when he nit picks small details from each chapter.

His tests are really hard, but not impossible to pass if you study his packages at least 3-4 days before the test. First test is the hardest since you won't know what to expect so don't worry if you feel terrible about the first one. Avoid him if you can.

Good luck. His tests are really hard. He won't tell you what to study for either - we tried asking him and he refused. Tests cover a lot of material making it even more challenging. I would seriously steer clear of this guy if you can.

An far as MBA electives go, this class is not easy. He crams far too much (irrelevant) information in, and it is impossible to tell what he will want you to regurgitate for his essay-style tests. He also says offensive things to students, so only take this class if you have a tough skin.

listen dudes, the class is NOT HARD. read the packets every day and youll pass with an A. i read the packets for each of the three tests two weeks im advance and never got anything less than an A. sure if you wait til the night before you will fail. dont be lazy and be a student and STUDY. sure hes weird but read whats handed to you its CAKE

This class is not difficult. I never looked at the printouts until the night before or morning of the test. The rest of the time I sat in class silently and listened to him talk. THAT'S ALL! No stupid homework, no stupid groupwork, no stupid presentations. This class was perfect. Choose the grading plan where you're competing with other students.

Comment:

Fortado is by far the toughest professor I ever took during my time at UNF. His Summer class consisted of 2 exams heavily curved. Heavily curved, so don't fear if you don't feel good about your exam, miss 5 classes and get reverted to plan 1, which is bad. My suggestion is to use class time to study note cards, as his lecture is just his packets.

3 Tests. All memorization. Zero learning. Lectures are terrible, tests are not handed back, and impossible to pass without his 'grading system'. Made what could have seemed like an interesting class with discussion on issues turn into a memorization course. Because of how the tests were laid out I honestly did not feel like I learned much.

Forget buying a book. He expects everyone to remember seven packages of notes and only put a few points on the exam. He has a different grading plan because it is impossible to pass on a regular grading system. If you aren't blessed with a photographic memory or this is your only class and thing to work on a daily basis it is impossible to pass.

He makes a relatively easy and interesting topic one of the hardest classes youll take at UNF. Tests are set up in a way to purposely confuse you or be overly difficult. Just read his notes several times and make flash cards on the stuff that looks like matching.

Terrible teacher, doesn't respond to emails, tests are ridiculously hard to where 90% of class would fail if not for his grading scale. Gets defensive if you ask him about previous tests, for an HR teacher his people skills are awful. And the cherry on top, he's a complete weirdo.

Very strange man. I would never want him as my human resource manager so I'm not sure why he is teaching it. He makes me and everyone in class uncomfortable. His exams are ridiculously hard. You must know the notes word for word. Not helpful before/after class (since I was too uncomfortable going to his office. Yikes!) avoid him if possible.

Not an easy class. Only grades are three exams: matching, short answer, and essay questions. Grades starting at 0, possible points on each is 40. Interesting teacher but sometimes hard to follow. Hands out written notes to print out and goes by those all semester. There is a lot of info to learn for exams, but you will learn A LOT! Study hard!

He is one of the worst teachers you can get at unf. His tests are ridiculously hard and he is very unhelpful with students. if he likes you or you suck up, you will get an A guaranteed. if not then you wont do so well. Don't buy the book and choose plan 2. if you can avoid taking him, then dont take him.

Do take Plan II and attend all classes if you want to pass. Two exams in summer, three in Fall/Spring. Exams based on matching, fill in the blank, and essay. I recommend study a little each day until the exam. Know the notes as much as you can (remember his stars and bolded text). I took him just pass this Summer and I got an A in his class.
