If you've never had a job, you might find him tough, but in the adult world, you're expected to be prepared and do your work. College is no exception. I started the class with a 4.5 and ended with a 94. He was very clear and if I didn't understand something, he would answer before/after class.Do MathXL, show up, be prepared and you will do well

DO NOT TAKE CLASS if you're a student who needs clarity and explanations and examples with math. He gets an attitude if he needs to re-explain things & constantly says "learn online, theres more there" If you understand math quickly than go for it. He is inconsiderate when comes to your grades also.. just horrible.

Just do mathXl and ask questions when its review time. He reviews every class for at least 30 minutes. Wasn't hard nor easy ITS A COLLEGE CLASS!

He's an okay guy, but even for me he was difficult to have as a teacher. I highly do Not recommend him if you just need a math class. He is Very harsh to others that are confused. One moment I remember was a girl asked how he got the answer. He dramatically sighed and replied "figure it out yourslef" Many people dropped his class

The guy should be a comedian! Very funny and straight forward.If you're weak sauce and get your feelings hurt easily, don't take him. He has prior military service which explains his assertiveness. As long as you do the bookwork and use Math XL's learning tools as well as having your questions on hand prior to entering the class YOU SHOULD BE FINE!

If you get this guy,run. He is legit the worst professor at IRSC, I don't understand how he was allowed to teach. His handwriting is BAD. He only teaches easy examples. CQs (mathxl) are required and dont match what he's teaching in class, doesn't give hw (for calc?!) . Gives quiz each class whether hes taught the material or not. I HAD to withdraw.

Worst Professor I have ever had to date. Only teaches using the easiest examples. Hates answering questions. Constantly belittles students. Rude and arrogant. Why is this man a Professor and how was he even hired?? Desperately needs to do something else with his life because it is obvious he hates teaching and just people in general.

Only take this class if you want to teach yourself and are good at math. I got an A in this class but was only saved by the online component that walked you through all the steps. Only gave the easiest example for each problem and did not like to answer questions. Only take if you like to teach yourself.

Mr Hensley is a good instructor. I am not good at math and ONLY studying I did was in class but still passed with a C. I am now taking a College Algebra course and see that all Hensley wanted was for his students to be prepared to take the next step. He has light and at times dry humor that will only make you laugh when you take a min 2 think

Very easy class. Anyone who says its hard is extremely lazy. Do your online work, and pay attention...guaranteed to pass. Very helpful and offers one on one. I would highly recommend him. Attendance is important too, it is math so you need to be there so you dont miss anything. I PASSED with a B, but could have easily gotten an A.

First A in a math class since HS. I am awful at math. This teacher is willing to help you if youre willing to learn that "I CANT DO MATH" whiny attitude will get you no where with Hensley. Our class was more mature so he was more helpful in re-teaching. Be prepared to rephrase your questions. I had to get a Tutor and study my ass off but I did it!

This prof helps, but you have to ask for it. He wants to see you put in the effort. My experience was terrible in the beginning, but it improved. We had quizzes every day for a summer class. I failed several because I hadn't taken math in years. Got a "B" overall. Try approaching Prof. Hensley one-on-one. He is actually quite helpful (and funny).

HORRIBLE. dont waste your time. is not clear. does not like to show work. doesnt write anything on the board until you say what to write. makes you figure it out and if you don't know he goes right through it. gets frustrated when you ask him to show work. take my advice.

This teacher moves way 2 fast. Doesn't understand half of the questions that you ask about homework. When he teaches he acts like you know or should know everything that he's teaching. Make sure you understand math throughly before you take this class. The tests are NOT multiple choice. Do not take this teacher unless you are really good at math!!!

DO NOT take this guy unless you are ready to learn everything on YOUR OWN! He treats you like your an idiot if youask a question and gets really mad if you correct him. Worst of all he moves WAY too fast!!! Gives excessive homework and quizzes that do NOTHING but frustrate you even more. Material on tests is out of nowhere. AVOID this guy.

Had him for liberal arts one. He expects you to know everything he teaches. Lots of quizez and I think 5 exams Final isn't cumulative. I got a B in the class, but had a C for majority of the semester. If you're not into liberal arts, definately don't take him. I don't know what he's like for sta and college algebra, but I heard he's the same way.
