Comment:

Nothing changed my life more than this one class. She is the Marie Curie of Anthropology, and will be recognized as such in the future. She is now retired. She certainly earned it, but this places a great responsibility on those brave professors who would carry the torch - such as Holly Dygert who will be picking it up in Fall 2013. Good luck HD!

I Really enjoyed taking her class....She is such a smart and wise person. i loved listening to what she had to say in her lectures....she knows what she is talking about! Take her class is easy....i barely read anything and i wrote about 4 essays....thats pretty much it and a test at the end of the semester....plus a cultural food party!! take her!

Informative, interesting, and engaging. If you actually attend class, you will be able to speak with intelligence on the issues in the Middle East today. If you're looking for Core 3 course that you can show up to only occasionally and still do well, this is not the class for you. If you plan to attend lecture, you won't find a better professor.

Spectacular, awesome, and above all else intriguing. Anthro majors you can't leave ric without taking a 300 level course with her. Very fair very easy, the rest of these comments are false except the positive ones.

Good intentioned, but not a great professor. Very full of herself. Goes off into huge digressions which take up most of the class. Doesn't really follow the syllabus (so you don't learn much.) Isn't very open to disagreement with her views. Prefers talking about sad stories about racism rather than having an intelligent debate.

Not a bad class. But honestly, Dr. Carolyn is a very condescending teacher. She expects you to be interested in everything she is interested in, and if you're not then she has no interest in you. She also has a way of making you feel extremely ****, even if you're not. She also thinks very highly of herself. So personally, I wouldn't suggesr her

I am really kicking myself for enrolling in this class. Fluehr-Lobban is condescending and talks about herself way too much. She def. knows her stuff but she is so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she doesn't listen to students and doesn't answer the questions asked in class. Wicked. Boring. It feels like high school.

Very good, committed teacher. Really cares about what she teaches. She is an extremely competant academic, but the downside is that she tends to think she is 100% right and believes every tiny thing she and her students do is a monumental, world changing event. This review is overly harsh though, she really is an awesome teacher.

Unbelievable is the only word that comes to my mind when I think about professor Fluehr-Lobban. She is amazing, she will make you WANT to learn about the subject she is teaching. She has an outstanding command about whatever she is talking about. Take her class, show up every day, and you will not be disappointed.

Whoa! What's with the mean comments?? Dr. CFL is a competent, confident, and warm individual. If that makes her "self-serving" or "self-important", then so be it! She has inspired more people than she knows, and has touched so many lives--including mine. I am a better person for having known her and I feel blessed to have been her student.

Like others said before, she thinks she is God's gift to the world. She is so high on herself people could tie a string to her ass and use her as a kite. While the class material was interesting, she made it overall unenjoyable and a dissapointment. Very condescending and arrogant.

I had this professor for a gen ed when i first started. i learned so much and was always interested in her class. last semester was my last at the college i took her race and racism course as an elective. she never disappoints!
