I took her for as many courses as I could manage. Her love of the subject makes it fun. A lot of work, but in the best possible way!

I took her for Literature of the Medieval Court and she was just great! Unlike the writing program professors, she ACTUALLY TELLS YOU WHAT SHE WANTS. Even tho her TA was a hard grader on some of the papers, she nullified those grades and gave those papers a grade higher instead. If you do what's expected for her class, expect at least a B.

Chism is one of those rare gems of a professor; one of the few you'll probably remember fondly after college. Shes one of those professors that makes college great. She loves her work, and her love of her work reflects onto her students. Her classes are interesting, fun, and she even manages to curb the difficulty of the course. Take her!

Ok, first of all, she's a very nice and down to earth person. She is incredibly intteligent and knows more about Medieval lit. than I know about myself. The TA will be much more harsh on your papers than she will, but she knows that and modifies the grades. She's compassionate and understanding. But most importantly, I learned a lot in her class.

Because of the class size, there was some problems with receiving papers back on time. As for the professor herself, she's totally sweet, witty, and obviously passionate about the material she teaches. I would love to take her in a smaller class!

A really nice person, but horribly unorganized. Split up the grading with the TA and they grade VERY differently- hard to gauge how to write the thesis papers when the two look for completely different things. It took forever to get papers and grades back, and because of that later grades suffered. I def wouldn't recommend her for large classes...

Took Medieval Drama with her and is a fabulous teacher. She has a good sense of humor in lectures and tries to relate to students, though admittedly, they can get boring sometimes b/c of subject matter. Her class was really easy-no quizzes or tests! Very flexible and understanding--a great class to get through the Medeival requirement.

In light of the fact that all English majors have to take a medieval course and nobody wants to do it, her class is a good option: the readings are centered around the idea of dissent, and are varied in length and format; she gives you one paper extension gratis; the reading/translation quizzes are pretty much gradeboosters;attendance is pretty lax

This class was really boring and so huge! Chism seems like a nice persoin, but she is definitly into medieval english and just keeps going on. She likes discussion and expects the readings to be done by there assigned time, which are usaully pretty long. If you are not into this time period do not take this class with her.

Great professor, she's extremely helpful. She's more interested in making sure you understand Chaucer than she is in punishing you for not. Definitely take her.

Her class is SO easy. JUST read! She's so cool to talk to and she's so laid back. Easy grader. Just respect her and she's so cool. Chaucer is a pretty easy class and she really gets you interested in the topic. I totally didn't want to take it but she has me engaged in the material. A reccomended prof by far. Just attend, participate and thats it!

Chris is really really nice, and she's fun an quirky, but as far as teaching, she gets so into it that she goes over your head. She's a really easy grader though, class is mostly discussion. Must say, the TA can get discussions going better then she can.

Good class, Chism always gave you extra time on paper deadlines...pretty easy grader. Classes were usually discussion sections with guidance from Chism. She was a nice professor, really likes what she teaches and not too hard.
