The Topics in WGS class I took was on The Queering of Theory-- a very confusing topic I had little knowledge on. Each week we had a ridiculous amount of difficult reading, but he would only go over 1/3 of it in-depth in class. His three hour lectures droned on forever. I had little idea what was going on most of the semester.

He is by far my favorite professor. Knows gender studies inside & out, seemingly able to answer any question. Sometimes lectures were challenging b/c he talks VERY fast about very heady stuff. But always stops for questions & will give you a personalized answer. I was always completely captivated & never thought of checking my phone which is rare!!

He is probably my favorite professor at Rutgers. Not only does he make class material enjoyable, but he makes class conversation engaging. He will answer any and all questions you may have, and encourages students to "figure out" the readings. He's very funny and entertaining. I would definitely take him again!

Cohen is hands down the best professor I have ever had in my four years at Rutgers. His arguments are thought out, clear, and draw from a variety of fields including lots of history of science and psychoanalysis. He's hilarious, smiles a lot and laughs loudly, will truly make you think about the text and learn to defend your reasoning.take him.

This man is super intelligent. He makes connections between things that are seemingly unrelated. His class totally opened me up to things I never thought about. 6 2-pg papers and a take home final. You can't mess that up. Easy A.

Ed Cohen is a wonderful man. I enjoyed his class immensely and learned a lot from it. Ed presents the information in a brilliant, beautiful way and chooses reading material that perfectly compliments his sentimental view of humanity. Take this class. As a third year, it has been one of the best and most enjoyable classes I've taken here at Rutgers.

Great professor! Highly engaging and intelligent. Has a highly extensive vocabulary so I thank my apple widgets dictionary in helping me understand some of the words he says. It's easy to do well in his class. It was an intellectually challenging course. Would love to sit down with him to pick his brain.

I took my first women's gender studies course with him to fulfill my gen. eds. having no prior knowledge or interest. I was pleased and fortunate to be in his class. It is intellectually challenging and he really engages you each lecture. If I weren't trying to graduate on time I would def. take another course with him.

Although he is a very intelligent man and has, by far, the most impressive vocabulary of any professor I've ever had, I really don't like him much. His lectures, although he tries to disguise them as "discussions", are all "guess my opinion". And if your personal opinion is contradictory to his, then you are wrong. Very subjective grader.

He is awesome. It's actually good he takes attendance cause you want to be there for his lectures. in regards to work load its just six 2-page papers throughout the semester and a take home final paper. that plus ttendance/participation makes you grade. all of the readings are on reserves. SUCH AN INTERESTING CLASS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Ed Cohen is one of the more intelligent and engaging professors in the RU English department. He delves into profound subject matter that may disturb those who do not like to be intellectually challenged. Cohen's classes are not for the lazy or the dim-witted.
