Comment:

I had a terrible experience. Rather than docking me points for a mistake in my 1st essay, I got a zero and went from 100% to 33%. I was told by him to drop the course and that the highest grade he would give me was a D no matter how many points I got. I stayed, got high 80s and 90s on the other 3 papers and got an 89% despite his discouragement.

Comment:

If you have both a sense of humor and a will to pass, this will most definitely be an easy A. Show up to class and do your reading so you're informed in class. 4 essays due, but he will help you with them if you need it. Honestly he is the professor that made college seem not so bad. 10/10 Recommend to take him.

Comment:

He was clear in his grading criteria and responded to emails quickly. When I was docked points, his comments made clear what could have been changed, allowing me to do better on the next major writing assignment. Lots of reading in this class but it was interesting. Stay on top of discussion board posts and deadlines and you'll do fine!

Comment:

I took the online 8-week ENGWR 300 course. There are three books to read and discussions are done 1-3 times a week about them. Then, there are three major papers: a summary, an analysis, and a synthesis. If you are already confident in your writing, I would recommend the course. Otherwise, it may be too quick or confusing.

I took the 6 week summer course. Overall grade consists of 3 essays and discussion posts. For the discussion post, you are assigned reading then you summarize it and respond to the question Kiefer asks. He is very quick at replying to emails and gave me extra comments on my essays when I asked for it. Overall 100% recommend taking Kiefer

This was a relatively easy class, there is homework due every day for the summer course mon-thurs, which I didn't like. However, the homework was easy, and the books read were really interesting and he provided a lot of helpful information. I personally would have liked a bit more feedback to see and improve on what I was writing.

Dr. Kiefer is my favorite professor I've had so far in my 23 years of life. He's highly educated, hilarious without trying, and very considerate with everything. We, as a class felt he had a lot on his plate so we decided to shift gears to online. But I knew everyone would have preferred to meet physically, he truly is a gem! Highly recommend!!

Great professor. Always give a clear understanding of what he's looking for in a paper. He's not difficult to please with papers, just make sure you follow his grading critera and paper subject/topic. Excellent feedback.

Kiefer is by far the best and most outgoing Professor I have taken for English. His grading is clear. Everything you see on his syllabus is everything due at the date written. Very funny man, you have to read the books he assigns for you will be writing papers on all of them. Overall a great,understanding Professor.

I took Professor Kiefer online for English 300 and really enjoyed his class. You have 2 assignments every week which are short summary and responses on the book your reading. He has a total of 4 papers, and he responds to emails quickly. He can help if you have any questions on paper, overall he is a great Professor.

The best English Professor, take him and you won't regret it! He wants all his students to pass his class and if you gonna do all the reading and papers, you will definetly have an A. He is carrying and understanding, makes his class fun and enjoyable. Would for sure take him again!!! Don't think and add him as you English professor!

Super great teacher, he is super hilarious and really cares about his students passing. Only four papers in the class that require a decent amount of work, but if you read the books and do the assignments well, its easy to pass with an A. I would definitely take this class again and would tell everyone to take this class if I could.

He's a good teacher, although you will have a lot of reading and responses due. He grades fairly and if you do your work you should pass with an A easily. I took his class online and he made it easy to understand what is expected of you.

I can't tell how amazing he is. He's the coolest, nicest professor I ever met. He gives a lot of homework, but it does not really matter for me because I believe that's an obligation so I just try my best to finish it. but, he always gives students more time to complete the papers. He also really hilarious. I like him a lotttttttttt!

This teacher would not read your rough drafts, instead, students critiqued you and your final essay was a result of that, which I believe is quite faulty. He spent 30 minutes on roll each day. There were at least 4 class periods that he spent telling stories that had no relevance to english what so ever. He was nice, just way too laid back for me.

AMAZING TEACHER. I really was happy with this professor. Incredibly caring to all his students. He is very clear with his instructions but is very helpful if you need the extra help. I would take him every year of college if I could. Again, amazing.

a lot of outside work and reading. You will have close to a 1-1/2 page essay daily on the reading chapters you're assigned as well as 4 essays through the class. However he is one of the funniest people I've ever met, if you have issues with professors using profanity this isn't the class for you. Has great ideas, takes role all of class time

When I first seen Professor Kiefer I was judgmental but when you get into class he is awesome. If I could take him for every class I would. Of course he has a lot of reading but its an English class. He does 4 essay papers along with reading responses. Nothing to hard ever.

This teacher is Amazing! I really appreciate Dr. Kiefer. He cares about his class and he is incredibly smart and way overqualified for a job at a community college. If you need extra help, he will help you kindly and give you really good feedback and information.
