Comment:

I am an art major whose main medium is photography. That being said, I really wanted to learn more about painting so I could improve my skills in that department. Chard left everything open ended, which is fine if you're already a painter. I learned nothing about painting, did not get helpful feedback, and feel like I wasted time in this class....

Comment:

Half painting, half life lessons. Chard understands painting isn't for everyone, just wants you to try. Humbly will tell his views on the world, which never fail to inspire the students to try harder, and EXTREMELY understanding. As a student with anxiety problems, as long as you talk to him, he's a big help.

Comment:

Is a good painter but a poor teacher. He tended to be more interested in what photoshop had to offer then what a student could or would paint. Painting is taught by looking at flat photographs which then causes students to paint flat images. He tends to not be clear as to what he is saying and contradicts himself often.

DC is the best teacher. I love him and Miss O. They are hot. He is so totally ingenius in color and use of paint. He can paint anything but I wish he could explain things better. He sometimes isn't clear, but he is still hot.

I didn't know much about painting going in but more than eager to learn. Even told him that first day. Doesn't teach techniques or anything, basically just an open studio. I could have learned all I did at home.

This Professor is very knowledgable. He shares his life stories and some students did not appreciate it. I did. I got so much out of this class. He cares and that is a big plus for me since so many professors could care less.
