Very nice man. Had office Hours right after class and was ALWAYS there. He sent e-mails out regularly keeping students informed. Stats is a hard class, but he really tries to help you understand, especially if you go to office hours. Tries to give students the benefit of the doubt. Really a sincere man, especially for teaching such a hard class.

This is a tough class. It's extremely important to show up to class and make sure you understand the topic being learned before moving onto the next because you'll get really confused. He is very nice and always willing to help, but can be very unclear and contradict what it says in his textbook sometimes. Just pay attention...you should be ok

Definitely a hard class & the fact that he doesn't explain things all the wya thru doesn't help. He'll go over something, and fill in all the blanks for us, but on the test we're expected to know HOW to find what he didn't show us. That kinda sucks. But he's pretty approachable for help.

doesn't give helpful advice on statistics. He's not capable of explaining theory or methodology with clarity. I don't like his style at all. He's not approachable and is not considerate for his students.

maybe its just me but i took his class twice because i failed the first time... i really like him as a person but do not reccommend him as the greatest teacher of statistics, even if it is just elementary statistics! He is a cutie though... for an older man.

Yes, this is a hard class. Asquith is not so considerate to all his students he deffinatly has his favorites. Expect to be lost most of the time and the only thing I can suggest is to group up with others and do your ass. together.

Not the kind of class you look forward to, but how many sociology majors or minors really want to work with numbers? It's not Asquith's fault the topic is boring. He tries to engage the class in discussions and seems very passionate about what he is teaching. His assignments are clear if you keep up with them and he is always helpful.

He is a nice person and is very approachable when you have questions about the SPSS assignments. He tries to explain the material but is not very clear on his assignments that he gives out. Overall it is a tough class if statistics is not your favorite subject.

Very difficult class if you are unfamiliar with statistics. He didn't explain much of the writing that is expected, but was very helpful with lab exercises and trying to explain the purpose of them. He's very sweet, but if you're behavioral science you should probably take anth 149 instead.
