He gives you projects that are extremely disorganized and hard to understand and a short time to complete them. His lectures are barely helpful and he does maybe 1 example problem ever.

Explains things pretty well, though the concepts are tough. Expect to take AT LEAST 6-7 hours out each WEEK with your group writing up lab reports, so PICK A GOOD GROUP. Definitely one of the hardest classes I've ever taken, but he curves it heavily and I am MUCH better at presentations now. Also he loves this picture of a squirrel with two tails.

Urban is smart and a nice guy, but his lectures will put you to sleep. Most of the time half the class is sleeping. Doesn't reply back to email on time and takes forever to update canvas. Book is never used---waste of money. He needs to dumb down the class, because somethings are not properly explained.

He's good at making you aware of the problems. I learned a lot about surface water, but I would have to look the math over again to apply it. I feel like it would be impossible to remember off hand. Thank God he doesn't make us derive equations. Math is harder, but otherwise easier than EMMA. Study practice exams and record any class examples.

Class was pretty good. Urban is a very good professor. Would recommend you sit near the front, as he is rather quiet and often has problems getting the class to quiet down. Very good at answering questions, especially via email. Sometimes received replies after midnight. Group oriented class.

Class is harder than you would expect. Teamwork emphasized and above-average time commitment. The assignment report is not clear cut. Problem solving skills required.... Pretty much what you'd expect in an internship. I got a good teamwork lesson.

Very nice guy. Good teacher. A decent amount of material covered in this class, so youll have to keep up or youll get behind. Homework is graded pass/fail based on effort. Any or all of your three term exams can be replaced if you do better on that section of the final.
