When someone is in the "system" too long, they lose any passion they ever had for what the did. This Prof should have retired a decade ago and let the new generation express their views.

I really liked the prof. He is a very nice person to talk to and he usually laughs at his on jokes which I found really amusing. Overall the course is ok. I liked the topics discussed in lectures but I would understand how some people might find it boring. You do have to do lots of readings every week and then he discuses these readings in lectures

I liked David as a prof. He is very funny, sweet, and cares for his students. The only negative side is he is very, very biased towards his own beliefs. The course was taught from a very one sided perspective, which sucks especially for someone who doesn't know much about politics. the TAs make or break your grade, and don't skip class.

Loved SOSC1510. Not a bird course, but I enjoyed the class & content. Prof is a hippie/free spirit kinda dude. All about climate change. Habib was a great TA. Nice & gives good marks if you try/participate. 2 tests, 5 reading assignments, 2 essays & 1 essay outline, plus participation. Lecture is put on Moodle. Study assignment questions for tests.

They completely changed the curriculum from previous years so its a lot harder than my friends who had it. There are alot of small assignments and the class depends on your TA (most suck so id just avoid this course tbh). 2 tests, 2 papers, 8 journals, presentations and a lot of unnecessary stress. So if you love yourself STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

The whole course depends on your TA. There are i think 15 TAs for this course. David does bothing honestly. He comes to lecture, reads off slides, shows movies, brings guest lecturers. Thats it. He can be extremely rude while trying to be funny. His exams arent hard and he gives the questions in advance. So thats the only good side

Decent professor, course does involve an adequate amount of work, however the assignments and tests are fairly straight forward and simple. Your mark basically depends on your TA, to much power is given to the TA'S. My one tip is you better suck up to your TA if you want a decent mark.

Don't take this class as it's NOT a bird course. Like the other reviews state the TA's are incredibly hard markers especially when it comes to the tests so it can bring your mark down quite a bit. They give you .25, .5, .75 marks.

I was told that this class was an easy A. However, this class is useless, if you want to lower your GPA go for this class as it is based on TA's. He reads off slides and tries to be funny. The work he asks for this class compared to other bird courses at York U is not equivalent. Had to withdrew from this class as it was affecting my GPA.

The Prof may be easy, but your mark depends on your TA, and most of the TAs are hard markers, so be careful who you pick

I was told that this class was an easy A but its actually not. The grading scheme is heavy and so much work for a "bird course." The course consists of tutorials, 2 tests, 5 weekly assignments, 2 major essays and a presentation. Your mark really does depend on the TA and all the TAs for this course are hard markers except for a few so choose wisely

Whoever said this was an easy course WAS LYING. I am a straight-A student. The professor might be easy. The content might be easy. However, your mark DEPENDS ON THE TA you get. You could be writing AMAZING essays, but if your TA doesn't like it, you will get a bad mark. The content IS SO BORING! Most TAs are hard markers in this course!!

Easiest class you can take at York. Don't even have to go to lectures to get a good mark. He is pretty funny, nice guy, and caring. Overall pretty easy class with very easy assignments.

Very terrible prof. The TA's are such a joke. They're all useless. Your mark depends on which TA you have. The class average was actually terrible. 90% of the class was getting C's and D's. I took this as a General Education credit which was the worst choice of my life. Don't ever take SOSC 1510!!

I don't know how this professor has such a low rating. He is perfect for a first year class and is very clear. It is not overwhelming and going to lecture is not essential (good for people like me). If you put effort into the assignments and exam you are guaranteed B+ or higher. He basically gives the exam before hand. His laugh is also really funy

As a first year student, being apart of Davids class was enjoyable. he is really funny and laughs at his own jokes (LOOL). dont bother showing up to class cause his lectures are useless, he literally reads off the slides he posts. Has a couple of god TAs (Go for Lee) that go over the useless readings in the text. overall its an easy course
