took her spring12, a lot of busywork, but its easy. show up, do the work. not that hard. i BSed most of my essays, and got pretty good grades, obviously you need to put a bit of effort, its an english class. I thought it was gonna be hella hard, but it was pretty easy. take her. but grades hard on grammar and sentence structure.

So glad I took her class. She will take extra time to help you if you need. She can talk to you disagreeing or just explaining something confusing without being rude. I don't think it's an easy A, you have to read before class and participate. But because she wants you to succeed, her classes become very enjoyable. Highly recommended!

What can I say about this Prof: one of the excellent prof I ever had. I took EWRT 1A and 1B with her. she is extremely helpful and care about what we learn. She hates late attendants, so make sure you come to the class on time. In addition, do your reading and homework, otherwise it will affect your status in class + your grades. Very easy class

Super sweet teacher. Highly recommend taking her. As long as you show up on time and participate you'll do fine. Alot of easy group work. Willing to work with you outside of class. She's really good at getting the whole class to participate.

She is the nicest teacher ever. She focuses a lot on participation, but it can be as simple as "I liked the article because..." She works very hard to clarify anything. She tends to do A LOT of group work that are like middle school activities. It was fun but I feel that she babies us. Easy A. If you are looking for a challenge, don't take her.

Helfman is a very caring, nice, passionate, and helpful professor. she cares about her students and the workload is NOT bad. Dont be lazy and do your essays because this is what the class is based on. Her class was a very enjoyable experience and was very comfortable to be in. Highly recommended!! GREAT PROFESSOR!!

She is a nice professor, but her topics are BORING! I tried paying attention, but she just put me to sleep. If you don't like working in groups, don't take her class. Her class/essays focus on culture analysis. @.@ The reading she assigns are short stories on the same subject. At times, its diffcult to relate to the stories. T.T

This is one of the nicest teachers i've met so far. She'll really take her time to let you understand the work she requires us to do. Only 3 essays, and 1 in class essay for final. She really wants you to make sure you pass, so she'll even let you redo your essay's for a better grade!

Professor Helfman is very passionate and helpful. She loves to hear different thoughts about novels and world issues. I'm a very shy person but I was able to present my opinions (as her class provides friendly and comfortable atmosphere). I'll never forget what she has taught me.

I loved her! She was always positive and wouldn't judge your work negatively. Instead we focused on elements that could make your writing better! Don't worry about finishing your work, do your best and that is what makes the class so enjoyable!
