If you want an A, you will not get it. Plain and SImple. This guy will never give out A's because he is so picky when it comes to grading. The highest you will get is a B. That being, the class itself was alright. Majority of it was him talking about the stories you read. 3 in class writing assignments, 1 five page essay and then the final.

Dr. Sorenson was a very kind and passionate teacher he LOVES english, especially old english (Shakespeare, Chaucer, James, etc.) He grades essays fairly hard but if you participate every now and then and put some time into the assignments you shouldn't get lower than a B. Not a class for people that don't enjoy English and get easily bored!

Sorenson is a hilarious, nice and great teacher. Gives 3 in class assignments and a final. Took him for ENG 102 and would definitely take him again. Not a hard grader at all but need to write your essays a little above average to get an A. Explains things really well in class, he tells you to read but if you just read spark notes you'll be fine.

He's a nice guy, but his class can be boring. His lectures are so long and monotonous and he wants to bang Chaucer. He's also a really tough grader, I don't think I ever got an A on a paper. But if you listen to what he says and spit that out on tests and papers, it isn't too hard to pass.

Dr. Sorensen definitely knows his stuff. He is very animated and shows a true passion for Literature. I would highly recommend him for English Majors. He is a very tough grader. I have always received A's in English throughout my life, but I seemed to be stuck with a B+ the entire semester. He is very kind and is always willing to help.

SO ENTERTAINING! He makes the books interesting and he goes over them in such detail that reading them is not necessary. He doesn't give A's and there's 2 essays throughout the semester, some in class writings and a final. The accent is a little over the top at first but you'll get used to it. Very intelligent and funny. I'd recommend.

The most eccentric teacher I have ever taken. Over-the-top vocabulary. His lectures are entertaining, but I needed to really read to book to get an A. Three noncumulative exams and a 10 pg paper. Probably has an ego the size of Alaska. Would completely recommend him if you want to learn history and lit. Show interest and he'll notice.

Dr. Sorensen is hilarious to listen to during lectures, but a really hard grader. For World of Fiction there 4 or 5 in-class essays and two 8pg papers, but other than that it's just listening to him talk. He loves to hear his own voice and fake accent. Repeat what he says in class in your papers and you will be fine.

Absolutely brilliant man. Probably one of the most intelliget people I will ever meet! He grades rather on-the-fence at times, but the grade is deserved. Work hard, read the text and study the notes. It helps to comment in class. He likes outspoken, passionate students. The best teacher I have ever had hands down.

Sounds smart. Looks smart too. But not everything he says is quite accurate. He reads to you and lectures. Bring up good points while he is lecturing, email him and start papers early. He is not so hard of a grader if you bug him and challenge him. Flies to england almost every weekend, therefore doesn't want to be bothered! He means well...

Despite the harsh grading, Sorenson was the best teacher I ever had. I still use his ideas and practices as they are very effective. Take him if you want to learn, you have to work real hard for a good grade though.

Sorensen, hands down, is the greatest professor ever. This man is a god among men. He's incredibly difficult for grading but he's the best lecturer ever. Just take him, you'll be glad despite you're lowered GPA. Sorensen is god's gift to the english department. I'm a bio major and I wanna take him again.

I hate english and he made me like english enough to come to class. It is very interesting but the only downfall is is that no matter how hard you try you will NEVER get an A. I tried as hard as i could and i only managed a C+. But it is a man to remember for years to come. He has so much knowledge it's out of control!

How Sorenson is a brilliant man but is his own number one fan. (hows that for an arguement?) I learned more than I have in any other english course but I was discouraged when he graded us on a professional level.

Simply brilliant fellow... If you're up for a class you'll remember for a long time to come, take his. We went on a class trip to the Delaware Art Gallery - great time. The guy has alot of knowledge of, and alot of passion for, his subject, and it shows in the way he lectures.

Test comes directly from lecture. Read books before going to class, or you won't know what he is talking about. Even if you don't understand the reading, do it. On exams, you need to quote from books. Give him his lecture back to him.
