If you're a freshman I'm sure you'll like the class. It is structured for freshmen and first semester/year students and its obvious. SOO much stupid busy work every week, and just go to class cause missing the in class assignments isn't worth it. I'm a junior & got extremely bored/annoyed of the tedious work, and the material is so easy. Easy A.

This is my first semester at WSU and this is absolutely my favorite class. Deb is an amazing instructor and she actually makes me want to go to class (which is saying a lot.) The course has pretty easy material and only one final exam that's taken as a group. Attendance is important because she does in class activities but she will post lectures.

Comment:

Tests are tough, but she is fair. Even after memorizing my study guide word for word, some test questions I'd still get wrong, but only lose a few points. She makes it clear that you should be there for in class activities and those are a big part of your grade. She's a nice teacher. Didn't use the book at all. Attendance isn't mandatory, but go.

Pretty much if you showed up to all classes, you can get a good grade. She makes sure no one uses phones so you pretty much have to focus. She gives some extra credit which is nice because it makes up for points missed on assignments and tests.

Horrible professor. Not receptive to any attempts I made to contact her during office hours or making appointments outside them. Lectures on things weeks after she gives you assignments on them. So disorganized, so much pointless busy work and in-class assignments. Way harder than it needs to be, and is NEVER clear about what she is testing you on.

Deb is an awesome professor. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and their grades. She tells a lot of stories, but most are appropriate to the topic. She makes lectures interesting. She does have random in class assignments worth 5 points, but they are really easy. Definitely the professor you want for 101.

If you listen to her lecture and study the text, you will do good on the exams. The virtual child posts are pretty dumb, but altogether they are equivalent to an exam. Make sure you go to class especially on days that she shows a video. She likes to have random assignments. Overall she's an okay teacher.

I would recommend going to class because there are in-class assignments sporadically but otherwise you wouldn't need to go. She is knowledgeable about the subject but is monotonous is speech so it's boring. she loves to talk about her daughters but i guess it's appropriate for this class

This class was not as easy as it is made out to be. The tests are actually sorta hard. Take the tuesday thursda class so you ask people about the test. She uses the exact same one for all her sections. She gives occasional in class assignments that are super easy. Its basically her attendance. She give about 5 of these per semester.

Her class is so disorganized! Half the time her lectures don't even make sense. She acts like the requirements for tests and projects are really clear, but when it comes time to grading she docks points for things she never even talked about.

She made her exams seem like they would be a lot easier than they were. She uses a lot of info from the book. Does not give you as study guide so you have to read the whole book and review everything. ridiculous. she makes it seem like it will be easy.

I heard this class was very wasy and was going to be an easy A but that is not the case. The tests are not as easy as everyone says. You have to read the whole book and go to class everyday, not that hard but not an "easy A"
