Comment:

Hope youre not wanting to take this class in the morning because there is a 99% chance of falling asleep. To this day I still dont understand why attendance was mandatory considering absolutely nothing from what she calls lectures was important or helpful towards class work or assignments. Best of luck but I would not reccomend this class.

Comment:

I learned a great deal about essay composition and development from Professor Zolliker. She is approachable, helpful, and gives enlightening, honest feedback. I recommend good attendance, as there are numerous handouts that are not on the course documents list on Blackboard. I will definitely take another course from her.

Professor Zolliker is one of the best Palomar has to offer. There are only 4 essays and then the Final. My best advice is showing up and do the work she gives. Follow and youll pass.

She's is a really cool, caring, and easy going teacher. Easy A. Just her lectures are supper boring even though attendance isn't really necessary every once in a while she has some key points to say.

This class was extremely confusing as there were 4 different professors for the one course (literature, art, music, history.) I like the professors as individuals don't get me wrong.. but I would NEVER take this class ever again. The lectures are extremely heavy and on boring subject matters. Quizzes every week. Felt like a condensed course.

Very weird considering that this lecture class included like 4 different professors teaching a humanities course. There are so many quizzes and they're so obscure to the lecture notes. Would stay away from this class if you need a good grade.

WORST professor EVER. Terrible at lectures. She just goes on and on over nonsense. Most isn't even related to what would be on the quizzes or useful when it came to writing essays. Quizzes aren't THAT bad when you read the chapters too, but lectures are still very required so you can listen to the nonsense that actually shows up on them.

She was a very good teacher, but would sometimes go off on tangents on other topics we aren't on. It sometimes gets confusing on what chapter we're on at that point. She is very helpful, and can easily make the class laugh.

Easy A. Just write the papers and show up. That's it. HOWEVER if you want to actually learn something and better your writing, do not get her. Zolliker doesn't know what she's talking about in her lectures; constant "uh" and "um"s. She's always unorganized. Her thoughts are so vague it leaves you questioning if she even knows the material.

Zolliker doesn't seem to know how to present lectures properly; a lot of her lecturing is a bunch of "um"s and "uh"s without a lot of confidence in her own material. That seems to indicate a general lack of the understanding of the material she presents. The lectures tend to not be too helpful for the tests on top of that.

This is a horrible class. Sue will spend the entire class talking, but nothing that is important for the test. Her power points didn't help either. They are crazy tough graders. It's almost impossible to get anything higher than a C on the essay exams. I would not recommend taking this class.

I enjoyed this class very much! There were only four papers, very little reading, and she will help you and give you advice by reading your papers in advance and writing comments before you turn them in on the due date. She wants you to pass!

Sue, SUCKS!!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER! If you want to learn anything take a different teacher. You'll sit in class and waist time, you don't learn anything from her and she is the lead instructor for the class. The other teachers (co-instructors) were good but they don't teach as much. She is very vague on what she says you should know. BAD TEACHER >_<

Lectures are always BORING. Learned almost nothing from her specifically, but other professors teaching the class were helpful. She speaks slow but it doesn't help at all. There's just too much information. Definitely read the book and all the suggested readings and you should be fine. I would try to avoid taking any of her classes though.

She is sweet, she does mean well but she is all over the place. The class needs to be structured better, test are confusing if you don't follow the lecture. Don't take the art portions on the exams, just follow Sue and Will, and you'll be fine

She is probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She is all over the place like the person stated before me. I have been taking classes for a year at Palomar and this lady needs to retire. The other instructors in the class are awesome and give understanding to what is being taught.

Sue is a very sweet person and does mean well. I did, however, have a problem following along with her lectures. She tends to be a little all over the place and says "ummm" a lot! Her lectures just weren't fast paced enough for me. But she isn't the worst teacher I have ever had.
