Comment:

Strict at times, may call you out on certain aspects even if you did the assignment right, though VERY SWEET outside of class. But in class. She's very different. Pay attention at all costs, you can't even go out to the bathroom, or using a phone during class without her getting upset. Though minor, but she doesn't need to call anyone out for it.

Professor Bliss is challenging, let's get that out of the way. Has high expectations, but more importantly, maintains reasonable guidelines/criteria, is willing to help. Is engaging and clever in the classroom, assignments are straightforward, and material taught makes excellent use of the required text. Simply wonderful learning experience.

I truly think she does not care whether or not her students pass her class. She is probably the toughest grader at this school. Youre lucky if you get a C on a paper, all she gives are Ds. Dont bother emailing her she doesnt care enough to reply. She acts like she cares about her students from the beginning but at the end you realize she doesnt

Hard grader but what can you expect, every professor at OCCC acts like theyre teaching at Harvard. Definetly wouldnt choose her as a teacher again. Rude with her emails and assigns random work. Wanted to drop but decided against it.

A lot of people do not like her because they dont want to put the work in. She doesnt like lateness/ or if youre absent. She gives clear instructions on what to do and will work with you when you have problems. She is a hard grader but so is the whole English department at occc. Participate and show that you care about your grade, its not hard!

Prof. Bliss is one of my favorite professors at OCCC. She is a tough cookie but she cares a lot about her students and the school. Shes extremely smart and is willing to teach everything she knows. There isnt a topic she is not interested in. She has a way of explaining things and making them interesting. I would take her over and over!

I took Professor Bliss for an Honors English class. She is definitely a tough professor, but not impossible. In the beginning, she intimidated me a little, but as the semester went on she truly showed that she really cares for her students and wants the best for them. Make sure you do your absolute best and you'll do fine. No slacking off.

She can be tough but if you read, participate, and ask questions she'll be happy to see the involvement. This was mostly a discussion course so theres not a lot of work to grade. The biggest assignment is the research paper which she gives you lots of time to do and you have to present on your paper but she tries to make it as painless as possible

Out of all the professors I took at this school I think I learned the most from Prof. Bliss. I had her for two classes (the one listed and PHL220) and loved both of them. She's a great choice if you're genuinely interested in the subject matter because she gets really in-depth. A true teacher. Down to earth and always willing to help.

By far, one of my favorite Professor at SUNY Orange. After having a terrible experience in ENG101 with Profesor Meagher, I am walking away from her class with a better understanding of English. She is tough, but fair. Clear and Concise. Encourages her students to go see her after class. Does not tolerate disrespectful students, which is nice.

I don't know how anyone can say anything bad about her. She makes clear what is to be done. She thoroughly explains and teaches all assignments. She puts things on blackboard that will help with writing. If you don't understand something or need extra help, she's available to meet with you; in fact she encourages it. Put effort and you'll do great.

If you go to class, read the assigned chapters, and give an opinion once in a while, you will pass. Bliss can be intimidating, but she is not a bad professor. Our class was lively and opinionated and the semester was amazing and fun. Her papers are not difficult for a PHL class and she is always there to help and meet with you outside of class.

Horrible Teacher and Nasty person. She will call you out and make you feel awful if you are not correct. I took her and got a D+ .. I now have to retake the class but definitely not with her. I am generally good at reading and writing essays, but not in her class. Hard grader& she is of no help if you go to her. She doesn't care for the students.

Prof Bliss was great. She was really helpful and always was willing to meet with you outside of class for extra help. Her assignments were hard, but if you paid attention, did the reading, and asked for help, the class wasn't bad. I would highly suggest taking her class!!

One of the better english class OCCC offers. always available for extra help. she will look at your papers for you and discuss. pretty lenient too. do the work and pay attention and your set. gives you review sheets for midterm/final which help alot. recite some lines from a poem...easier than i thought!
