Overall great teacher, with an excellent ability to formulate targeted test questions. His notes are comprehensive, and are good preparation for exams. Although he does not assist, he is still a great teacher!

He stated in the beginning that he does not help students with questions. He does the bare minimum in the classroom so he can go home quickly. he does not enjoy teaching (he even stated this, saying he hated seeing students faces), and he just wants to get paid without working too hard. The main issue: he is fed up with his situation and his job

HE THE EASIEST ISDS 361B PROFESSOR in this department! He provides you with his personal notes. His notes is basically the exams. No power points like other professors, he's straightforward. His exams are multiple choice vs others with blue books. You will not regret it, just pay attention and put effort as you should in your classes.

Professor is straight forward and simple. NO TRICKY QUESTIONS. All test content os covered in class. It becomes difficult to pay attention after a few weeks. Show up and pay attention you will be good.

I received nothing but negative energy from him. He doesn't necessarily care whether or not you pass. His lectures/notes are almost word-for-word right out of the book. He doesn't let anyone follow along/learn excel while in class. If you learn by doing, don't take him. He couldn't even solve a homework problem while the whole class was watching...

monotone dry accent, but as a teacher, he's easy enough to understand. don't be afraid to ask him to clarify any concepts you don't understand in class, then he'll be more than glad to help you out. neither the worst nor best pick, but his class is quite possible to pass as long as you don't miss out too much. also i learned so much from him.

Paul Minh was by far the worst professor I have ever had both at Community College and University level. His lectures are very unhelpful and when I asked him to help explain something a bit better, he told me to learn it on my own. I could go on for paragraphs but Rate My Professor only allows so many words.

Avoid Minh at all costs! 1st exam is 12 questions, 2nd, 3rd, & final only has 11 questions. 4 random extra credit points worth .5 each for attendance. Open book and notes for exams & final so print out the hw becuase it can help. His lectures are boring and he doesn't explain the topics well but his notes are golden during exams.

If you struggled with ISDS 361A then I highly recommend that you AVOID taking 361B with Prof Minh. His lectures are not clear and he doesnt offer any extra resources to help you. Its a self taught class. There are much better options for this class.

Professor Minh wasnt clear with his lectures. Didnt allow us to use computers to practice what he was teaching. Exams had few questions which freaked me out but it can be pretty easy. Textbook recommended. Attendance isnt mandatory but he randomly hands out extra credit so try not to miss. Take him if you can teach yourself & make friends in class

I was scared reading the reviews before this class and admit I did not like the professor at first. However this ended up being my easiest and least stressful class of 5 classes. I got an A on the first 3 exams by just showing up and following along with his notes. His lectures are kinda meh, but his notes are like gold.

Avoid this professor! Only take him if all other sections are closed. The class is composed of 3 midterms, 10 homeworks, 2% extra credit, and 1 final (equally weighted as a regular exam). Exams are most likely made up of 11 questions, meaning if you get 3 wrong thats a C already. Try getting C's and B's in exams and a perfect 10 on hw to pass.

Entire class is based on 3 tests and a final. 2% extra credit offered randomly for attendance. "old school" teacher who refused to conform to the new structure of ISDS at CSUF- 361A spends 3 entire weeks working with and learning excel, Minh refuses to use excel for anything in his class. No templates, everything is taught by hand in his workbook

I also took this course during Summer 2016. About the templates, he specified that we cannot use them or a test unless he gives them to us. I also got confused about this but I ASKED before i brought them up. Keys to passing this class: HOMEWORK. Do every single bit of homework that comes your way. Match the lecture with HW problems to pass.

Currently taking this professor for summer 2016 and its honestly the worst class ever. Everything he goes over in class and in the solutions manual has NOTHING to do with the test. He will teach you a method to solve a problem but this method will not work at all during the test. He will also accuse you of cheating if you use the books templates.

Not an easy class he teaches things intentionally harder than it is. Book isn't necessary but he Makes you buy his notes(he makes profit off this). Half of what he teaches is unclear I ended up googling it and taught myself. Gives overall total of 2 extra credit points on random days. 4 tests no hw. Passable but Take as a last resort.

He's a SMART teacher and a GOOD person. Honestly, his lectures are boring because of his teaching style, but they are very CLEAR and easy to follow. Pay attention at class and study the note, then the exams are just a piece of cake.

Grade is based off of 4 exams and a project(we didn't do). The first exam will kill you if you don't prepare for it. It dropped my confidence a lot, but the first and second exam were REALLY easy, and the third was pretty easy. Take good notes(specifically when he goes over book problems). Go over book problems before exam. Open notesbook exam.
