Comment:

Talks a lot, covers a lot of material for one test. Slides shows are in the sucess center. Death in one ear. Only gives you a heads up on the day before the test. Review slide shows and test will be easy. Fail one test and you basically stay behind.

Comment:

Eskra was very clear on everything. The entire class is slideshows of art and explaining them. He puts up "Exam Images" which is the paintings you have to know for the test. These are not anywhere else, so if you miss class you will miss the images. Test are all multiple choice and be ON TIME to tests. If you pay attention, you'll pass easily.

He was very nice and is super into what he is teaching. Two big writing projects that DEFINITELY helped me get a B. I had a D almost the whole semester, then two weeks before summer, the two projects and the final were due and I studied and did my research and raised myself two letter grades.

Terrible instructor. I learned more in the two days there was a sub than the rest of the semester. He sits and reads his magazines, doesn't seem to care and to be honest his "art" isn't very exciting. It borders on lame in fact. He can draw realism, but there is no drive. Take a different instructor

Wonderful professor he uses the online study guides for his lecture so if you print them and highlight/ add important pieces of art you'll do just fine.. he doesn't use the book but you can reference it for studying. he does require you to sign in for class each time you meet. *** IT IS A MUST TAKE!!!!!

Mr. Eskra was fantastic. Watched alot of movies and that can be a bit boring first thing in the morning everyday. But the class was easy and def. made me look at art in a NEW way! Thanks Mr. Eskra and enjoy your retirement!

I loved this professor! Not only is he a good friend of my high school art teacher, he is also a former co-worker of one of my uncles who teaches at Belleville West and is now retired. I have him now for Drawing II (Art 250) and it is amazing!! I am pursuing a career as an art therapist and this class has introduced me to many, many styles!

He peaked my interst in art and I learned quite a bit about how the changes in society affect the style and content of art pieces. I would give this instructor a 3 out of 10 with 1 being the lowest! I didn't learn as much as I thought I would from him! It was a college class and it didn't feel like one at all. I niver had a drawing class in high school so coming into this class i didn't know much. Now coming out of this "college" class I still don't know a Damn thing!

Amazing!!! He is truly one of the best. I had no interest in art until I took his class, now I do. He really loves what he teaches and expresses it through his lectures. I hated to miss a day because he was so fun to listen too. Take him if you can. Also, his test are from his lectures and study sheets, so study hard and you will get an A.

Does not teach drawing! He will tell you how to make value, but COMPLETELY skips any instruction on rendering. Also obcessed with giving you specific directions on thinking "out of the box" - which is ridiculous. If you are looking to transfer, don't expect to be up to par in drawing, because this is not what a 100 level drawing should be!!

he wasn't the easiest teacher but his lectures were interesting. I found him to be pretty easy going and understanding. His tests weren't too hard for me, just PAY ATTENTION to what he says and has on the screen! With that, the handouts and book,you'll be fine in his class!

I wasn't interested in this class at first, but Eskra was a great teacher. Sometimes his lecturse got boring, but he gives you all the notes in a handout pretty much word for word. His tests are easy if you read your handouts.

Comment:

Great teacher with a great means of teaching. His lectures were always clear and concise and always gave me the feeling that I left there with more knowledge than I came in with. A very helpful instructor, but also a difficult grader when it came time for reports.
