Takes attendance atleast 3 times per week. She's very nice and helpful if you have any questions. Grade is calculated by 5 tests, the worst of the 5 gets dropped. Participation points are given based on attendance.

Amazing class. You have to work hard to pass, but I learn more in an hour in this class than I did the whole year with my other psychology teacher. She makes it clear that you must read the textbook at multiple times throughout the semester. Do the reading and you will succeed in this class. Great discussions and openly encouraged questions.

She has a lot of knowledge and really knows what she is talking about. However, you do have to put in work to do well. She is willing to help if she needs it and she will answer any questions. She takes what she does very seriously and expects the best from her students. Also, make sure you read the chapter.

Dr. Billings was a really nice person, but she wasnt a great teacher. Most of the days we met we didnt get through what we needed to because she let so many people ask UNRELATED questions. The people I sat by, along with myself, hated the class for that reason. You HAVE to read the chapter to do good on the tests

There was a lot of reading and you needed to take a lot of notes and outlines of the chapter to better retain the information for the quizzes, but she was a very fair instructor. The writing assignments were interesting and didn't need to be lenghty and she always gave great feedback. I enjoyed her.

Professor Billlings was great for an online summer class. Everything is outlined in a clear and concise manner so you know exactly what she wants. Great feedback., would definitely take her again for other classes.

Billlings is one of the best psych professors I've had. Her tests can be tricky, however if you read the book throughly you shouldn't have a problem. Her discussions make you want to show up for class. She's very accessible outside of class & is willing to help with any personal issues as well. 10/10 recommend

Dr. Billings is the best teacher that I have had at Southwestern Illinois College. Compared to many other teachers, she belongs at some research university in small group discussions, where her knowledge and expertise won't be wasted on people who don't care about Psych. Expect to read the textbook on your own-- and thoroughly. She's a gem, truly.

Dr. Billings is a great teacher and does great lectures. If you procrastinate this isn't a good class for you. You actually need to read and review every chapter. No study guides. I don't think any extra credit, but I enjoyed the class over all.

I thought this was the best class of my semester. Dr. Billings was a great teacher. The class was very test heavy with one paper. She does drop your lowest test grade though. You do have to study for this class and she takes attendance most days.

Yes, grades are few but that means STUDY! Nothing is given. Earn your grade with Dr. Billings. She's a brilliant teacher that expects her students to learn, not skate by. Read the chapters, make outlines, and study. Do that and you'll get an A. The tests are straight from the chapters. She's out to help, not hurt you. Her communication is perfect!

She is a wonderful teacher. But if you're a procrastinator, like me, run far away. The only grades you get are from four or so tests and a research paper. No study guides. but the power points are online.

Read, Read, Read oh yea and READ. Lectures easily taken off topic & not very helpful for tests. Test are 50 questions. Chapters 30pgs. No study guides. Take your own notes when you read. Treat this class as though you are studying to test out of it. Teach yourself. YOU HAVE TO READ A LOT. She sticks to the syllabus. Probably won't take her again.

The only grades include 4 tests & a research paper. The tests are critical thinking questions & relate to nothing in her lecture. She expects you to read & retain 300 pages worth of info for a test that doesn't have a study guide. She makes you work around her time if you have questions. So glad to leave her class on the last day. Steer clear.

She only gives four test and basically makes you teach this class o yourself. She only lectures and doesn't do well with that. We often go off topic and although sometimes it's funny, t does not help with our tests. If you are bad at testing do not take this class because those are the only grades in the class.

The tests have material on them that are not in the reading or notes at all. There are 5 tests and one paper that is it! She treats this class like it is a grad level course when this is COMMUNITY COLLEGE I dont expect to be babied either but some homework or review sheets would be nice to help learn the material. She made psychology boring for me.

Dr. Billings is a great professor. Many people come into a community college expecting to be treated like children, but she treats you like an adult and a student. Her class made me feel like I was getting the education I paid for and I appreciate that. Be wary of negative reviews. Dr. Billings is a very kind person and wants you to learn!
