I was actually excited hearing that we had the same political views going into the first few weeks of class. I however, was bored to tears and felt terrible for any student who spoke out against him. He just went off on tangents instead of really TEACHING. Would not take him again for ANY reason.

If you're serious about political science stay away from his class. He's a smart man, but he doesn't know how to teach a class. There was no organization and I left each class having learned nothing. The class started out with 35 students and ended at 6 by the time I dropped his class.

Marrits talks in circles. While I had a longing desire to learn about Pol Sci prior to his class & as the class is wrapping up I have learned NOTHING. Marritts rambles & babbles the entire class. He knows his stuff but fails to teach. Don't fall into his trap of not submitting something before MID-terms. Only easy if you have prior knowledge.

Well. There was virtually no deadlines for any of the papers. All the topics of the papers were interrelated. So just read what he suggests and this is the easiest class you'll ever take. However, if you can't endure lunacy this class is not for you. Seriously...

Great teacher. He teaches very differently that most others. Familiarize yourself with "Little House on the Prairie." Easy on the paper deadlines but you will need to think about what you are writing. He is a cookoo conservative and knows his students are looney liberals but he doesn't let his views effect his grading, he is fair in that regard.

That must be a pic from a magazine because it ain't marrits-first of all. Second, I would love to say avoid his class at all costs, but I haven't been able to find another teacher for this course in the 2 years since I was 1st warned about him. That said, be prepared because though he's nice, I agree with all of the negative teaching reviews.

"Who get's the cookies?", or "play a game of marbles"...this is what you are going to hear from him for the remainder of the course. Granted, he is very intelligent. However, I rather listen to Rush Limbaugh than this conservative. Now I realize how stupid politics are, so I thank him for teaching me how to drop his class, and politics all together

His teaching style is so out of focus. I registered for his class, in hoping to learn about how the U.S. government really worked, but instead I receive nothing but conservative propaganda. He is intelligent, yet fail to focus on "teaching", instead of preaching. I wasted $70 on the textbo, which he never gone over. Worst teacher in CCP.

He is a character. Be ready for right wing politics. Great class, opens your eyes. He grades super-easy and has practically no due dates...you just hand stuff in when you feel like it. The lectures can get a little strange, but he's worth it. I really liked this class.
