DO NOT take her unless you're pretty dang smart and can learn from just power points basically.she's not very helpful so if your lost, GOOD LUCK. she's more nice if your one of her smart students in the class. AVIOD AT ALL COSTS! Very unreasonable, teaching skills overall is poor, is unorganized, changes assignments w/o notice, poor communication skills, will humiliate students in class, cannot control dangerous situations, will overload on assignments, very unclear when answering inquires, has no interest in improving the class or teaching style.

Horrible teacher. When you asked a question, she answered you with another question. She messed up my grade, lost tests, and it seemed that sometimes she had no idea what she was talking about. If you want to do a lot more work than you're supposed to, while being stressed out, take this class. I literally learned so more from my other classmates.

This class demands you to work and if you aren't prepared for that don't take it. I learned a lot from this class but it also took a lot of work. Most of my classmates constantly complain about how hard it is and I've noticed they the ones complaining are the ones who don't put forth the amount of effort needed. Fun weekend field trip included

If you are interested in marine bio I recommend this class. If you DONT know how to organize your homework/studying then DONT take this class. More than half the class thought it was madness, the rest of us got it. Dont overthink it, the homework journal is just a visual to see if you are studying or not.

This class is a nightmare. Seriously, a nightmare. Terrible professor that has all the knowledge in the world about Marine Biology but nothing about teaching, organization, communication, grading, or testing. Do not take. If you take, leave.

In terms of activity and field work, this class is awesome. Other than that, a huge pile of garbage. Way too much for for a 3 unit class. Extremely unclear with everything. Makes everyone feel like an idiot when comments are made. Lectures are terrible, tests are worse, she expects too much with so little given. I learned more elsewhere.

Extremely demanding for a 3 unit class. Weekend fieldtrip up in Northern California, expects 6 hours of study time a week in addition to homework and class attendance. Lots of homework, exams, and work outside of class.

In so many words horrible. Unorganized, seems to be a bit out of this world if you know what I mean. The work required for that class was ridiculous its an introductory class, seriously. NGO reports, 17 current events, class lectures,quizzes online, and more I just can't remember.Please don't take her what ever you do.

Terrible is the first word that comes to mind. I have to say I knew how it was going to the first day of the class, the semester after was just useless.Very unorganized, unclear. She knows her material but she answers your questions with a question. It seems I would have got more from another professor. The only saving part was my interest.

EXTREMELY DEMANDING professor! She assigns 16 current event assignments, 10 hours of volunteer work, 17 quizzes, the Carbon Diet,an NGO oral report, and it is only a 3 unit class. Also the mid-term is ridiculously hard and the final is 10 essay ?'s. powerpoints are 75-100 slides long and jammed with a hundred words. miserable class.

Wow! HORRIBLE teacher. I will never take her again. Her grading procedure is outrageous, she makes you feel like an idiot when you ask a question, and she thinks she's all that just because shes 98 years old and has been around for centuries. I do not suggest ANYONE to take her. Trust me!

She is a horrible teacher. She makes you feel stupid if you ask a question. Her knowledge of the subject is vast but grades at a university level. Quizzes are very hard and are apart of your lab worksheet; so even if you do well on the worksheet and not so well on the quiz, you will still get a bad grade.

Terrible teacher. I spend almost 3 hours on a lab once a week and the following week i'm expected to take a quiz on that lab PLUS the NEW lab i'm going to do that day. AND the lab is only worth 3 points and the HARD quizzes are 7 points.NOT FAIR! she makes you feel dumb when you ask a question. DONT TAKE HER!unless you want to fail.Take Ty Gardner

um, quirky lady. i did find her lab somewhat challenging since she grades you like 70% off of the 7-question quizes she gives when you 1st get to class.if you ask her a ? she does tend to drag it out but i think its bc she really wants you to understand it. I liked her class. offers extra credit and does a progress check w/ u individually.
