Comment:

His teaching style is not that great but Somers is a professional photographer, if you can get past his slight stutter and monotone voice you can learn some things from him. I would only recommend him as a photography teacher.

Somers actually made me question if I wanted to pursue a career in film. That is how eck he is. He mutters and mumbles a lot and it is actually annoying. His lectures are boring and he doesn't make things interesting enough. His classes tend to be large which makes it hard to focus because people fool around and he cant control it. Helpful though.

Yes, the class was ridiculously easy, because he gave us only 2 assignments and one quiz. That's not hard. But he taught us nothing. This animations class was supposed to be fun and interesting but he doesn't even know the basics about animation and couldn't help solve any problems. He is hands down the absolute worst teacher I've ever had.

He really is a good guy. I had him for two semesters in a row and his class was not terrible. Yes, he has a stutter problem and he's pessimistic but what he says has value. Everyone thats writing negatively just don't want to admit that they're upset that he criticized there work. He's a professional photographer and your not. Get over it!

I am REALLY surprised at all the horrible nasty comments about this man!! I had him, I had to drop ONLY because my schedule wasn't working out. I was in the class for a few weeks and got the first few assignments done, & I have to say I thought he was pretty easy going, and very sweet. Yeah he may have a stuttering problem, but that's just mean ppl

This professor is terrible. I do everything he tells me to do on the first research paper he gives me. I cited 9 or more sources, I did 10 pt. Arial font, answered all 10 questions, and typed between 5 to 7 pages in my paper, and I still got a failing grade. He doesn't help you and he always talks about himself in class. AVOID THIS MAN IF YOU CAN!!

Good riddance. He explains things so convolutedly and mumbles a lot. He sometimes even gets an attitude if you don't understand something he just explained. This class is a nightmare and he will kill whatever interest you have in the subject.

Hands down the worst professor I have ever had. The class (electronic music workshop) was totally stupid and bogus; it has nothing to do with what you would think of as modern electronic music. All he does is show you stupid sound effects he's made and mu-u-u-umble about how cool he used to be. Don't waste your time.

The second most unpleasant experience I've had with a professor of any kind. Extremely self centered & doesn't offer much help in class. Lectures are banal and boring. Doesn't listen to students when they have valid arguments regarding subject material. It's his way or the highway. He's no monster as someone else said, but he's intolerable.

One of the worst teachers I have ever taken a course from. Knows alot about the communications, but all he talks about is his money and things he has done. The RED CAMERA, heard a story about it 15 times, (actually counted) avoid him at all costs. If you are working with hardware he tells you to refer to the book and never explains anything.

Some teach to pass knowledge to others in hope they will appreciate and learn. Other teach because the chance to talk about themselves is too great to pass up. I was warned, and I should've listened. He's not a monster, but he is a hack teacher. My suggestion is to do exactly what he says even if it seems wrong or inane or he'll fail you.

This teacher is extremely hard to listen to. Very uptight and prefers on proving student wrong rather than actually helping. He is very intelligent but has little to no common sense. Most people in his audio classes are musicians and love recording, but he takes all the fun away and makes it as dry as possible. I WOULD AVOID THIS TEACHER!!!
