Dr. Higgins is easily one of the best professors at GA. Her class was very informative, but she also made going to class at 9am fun! You have 1 paper that you work on throughout the semester which is really nice. She gives great feedback and is really personable. 11/10 would recommend.

Comment:

Really great teacher! Gives wonderful feedback to her students and her lectures are often based on student feedback, meaning they are very relevant to what we are discussing at that very moment. She is a bit of a tough grader, but that's only because she expects great things out her students, not out of malice.

Comment:

She's far from an easy professor, but this is college. It's not supposed to be a walk in the park. She clarifies absolutely everything she expects you to do, upfront, and even gives a grading rubric when she assigns papers. Fun and interesting to talk to. Classes are pretty easy-going as long as you participate a little; just ask questions.

Comment:

In this class we viewed 5 or 6 movies and studied various themes throughout them. There were quizzes every other class on the readings from the book. She lets you drop the lowest quiz. Midterm and Final were essay based. Requires a lot of effort and participation but I loved this class. Grading is tough, but she's fair. Highly recommend her.

Comment:

If I could skip over a 202 class, I would. This class wasn't terrible, but a lot of the time I felt like we didn't need to be there. She would ramble about little things that didn't influence my writing. Overall she's a nice teacher, and tries to make the class as painless as possible. Take Higgins for a 202 class, she's a good teacher.

We started off reading short stories, then moved to a novel, then a film, finally ending with poetry. We have to give a 5 min presentation on a poem as well...but it wasn't difficult. Sometimes she is unclear about what she wants you to write about in your papers, but other than that a very nice, helpful teacher!

We read 3 books, a bunch of short stories, and watched 2 or 3 movies. This class is easy if you read what was assigned, come to class, and participate every now and then. She is a very good teacher, very helpful, and obviously loves what she is doing. If you need the credits, take this class!

Very energetic and excited about whatever she's teaching. She lets the class do most of the talking, participation is a big thing in her class. We read 5 books over the semester, some were strange but most of them were pretty good. You only write two papers, and she grades easy. She is very helpful and a very nice teacher.

Extremely FEMINIST! At least once a class she'll mention how some lady did something in history to improve women's rights, or she'll mention the National Organization for Women. A very smart teacher, but definitely plays favorites, especially with women. If you're a girl, have fun with a high "B" or "A." If you're a guy... HA! HAHAHAHA!

Interesting class. The intellectually curious students adore her because she requires that you stretch your imagination. She takes your intellectual and professional growth seriously. You do not want to take her classes if you're just going for the degree and not to open your mind, or if you're lazy, late, or don't care about world politics.

Dr. Higgins makes you think. If you do not enjoy thinking outside of your comfort zone, or you think a good grade should be an easy handout and not a real challenge, stay away. I'm glad to have a prof. who has been to the places we study. Those who are angered or offended by a challenging, well-traveled teacher should check their fragile egos!

I had her for French Culture Through Film, and this lady knows her****. She is one of the best prof I have EVER had. I hold her in high reguard. She does expect a lot, but you grades very fairly, and if you pay attention you'll do fine.

This teacher is an utter (censored). She expects far too much of her students. Come in 3 minutes late? Oops, you missed the quiz, and I'm not reading the questions again. She is pompous, and REGULARLY makes everyone think she's better than them with recollections of trips abroad. Gen-Ed students, STAY CLEAR. Too hard to get a good grade.
