Took online, he doesn't use blackboard. He uses a website he made and it is very messy and confusing. Takes FOREVER to grade assignments. He didn't put any grades in until the last couple days of class. Doesn't respond to emails. Very unorganized but class was an easy A as long as you read the chapters. He was an easy grader.

I am taking the 16 week hybrid class so lectures are only once a week. In class we literally don't do anything (its spring break and we've only handed in one in-class assignment) but he takes attendance so show up and play on your phone all class if you want. Online assignments (90% of the class) is easy, just define a few words and you're good.

today was my first day &at the end of the class he took the attendance, he stumbled upon a couple of middle eastern names, then he started making fun of the names. He said "What ever happened to 100% American names like jones or smith? Now you see all these middle eastern names that are pronounced 'ahkdjkfuif'" He continued to make fun of the names

Horrible teacher! He would talk about his personal beliefs, would not be helpful at all. He would let his class and students do whatever they wanted. He cancelled class for an audition. He also gave me a B+ because he doesn't believe in giving A's which messed up my GPA. "DR" Trumbull thanks for nothing!

Professor trumbell is pretty fair I suppose, being that I have not received a grade yet. However, this guy can talk! He rambles on forever..he can talk about the usefulness of a sip of water before a speech for 45 minutes easy. Brace urself if ur plannin on takin this class. Run away when he gives the break mid-class.

Doc, as my friends and I call him, is really a great teacher. He is extremely easygoing and approachable. He never makes you feel like you can't ask him questions if you don't understand him. He is critical, but he does it to help you. So if you cant take a bit of constructive criticism, then this classs is not for you

I thought he was a pretty interesting teacher, but I did only have him for the 6 weeks for a hybrid class in the summer. The course basically had two individual speeches and one group discussion and then some work on blackboard. I hate talking in front of the class, but it really wasn't all that bad. It was an easy A.

An OK professor, though he needs to work on being more comprehensible (ironic for a speech teacher). He's an odd guy and tends to bring his left-leaning politics into his lectures, but if you cater to it in your presentations, you'll probably get an easy A. Not a good quality in a teacher, though.

For those who can't understand the negative rankings: it seems like his non-theatre classes are fine, but do NOT take him for theatre. I had two syllabi (often conflicting), he responded to one e-mail out of 5 (I stopped trying), and graduation was four days ago and I still haven't gotten any but two grades, so I technically might not've graduated.

I don't know what everyone else here is talking about. The class was crystal clear and gives you confidence in public speaking. He also encourages you to work with other people to build your communication skills. Easy A class and he is very helpful and nice. So stick it :)

Very easy subject matter and exams are open book. He is, however, very tough on grading presentations. A little advice: he's a total left-wing communist so don't do any pro-Bush speeches, you'll fail.
